Josh's and Mom's birthday was a great day. We planned on leaving the house at 10:00 am (right after the kids eat breakfast) to go on a hike, of course we didn't end up leaving until after 11:00 but at least we left right? We decided that we would hike the 'Y' since Lou has never done it. The hike was pretty steep and it was kind of hot outside but it was a ton of fun. Louis carried Josh and Mark carried Kira. It was great to not have to hold one of them. The kids took naps when we got home, Mom and I made Josh's and her's birthday cakes.

That night we had a barbecue with Dave and Laurie we had yummy t-bone steaks. Josh opened his presents (with tons of help from Kira), blew out his candle and then went to bed. Josh didn't get to enjoy his birthday barbecue. I guess thats what happens on your first birthday. All and all it was a very special day.

Last night Louis, Mark and Dad ran the Xterra Scramble 5K in downtown Ogden. The traffic north of Salt Lake was terrible so it took us 2 1/2 hours to get there, the boys made it just in time.Being the great runners that they are they all placed first in their divisions and received gold medals.

Good job Lou! Jared and I are very impressed at your placing first in the Scramble. We are doing good if we break out the treadmill every week or so. Glad to hear that the birthday was fun too-- we were thinking of you!

Way to go Lou, Jeff, & Mark! You guys are great! (Hey Mark, if you are going to be around for a while, you know you can come stay with us, too...you know, clean up the house, etc.! We'd love to see you!) Did Mom Allen get off to see Miriam and cute Sadie okay? I bet that will be way fun for her to see the newest grandbaby! We are glad you had such fun birthday events, too. Love you guys!
