Lou went to Sacramento for the weekend (thanks to the generosity of a great friend)to visit a friend who's getting married in a few weeks. Lou can't go out for the wedding because it's on our anniversary so this weeknd seemed to be the best time. The weekend started out really shaky but has gotten better since. When we got home from the airport on Friday after dropping Lou off I thought you know, lets go to Target I'll buy myself a little treat, get home in time to put Joshy down for a nap and all will be well. Well as soon as I got the kids out of the car and locked the door, I realized I locked my keys in the car. I hardly ever lock my keys in the car so what a perfect time to do it when the only other person to have a copy was on an airplane. I went into Target talked to the cutomer service people, they told me to call the police. The police came really promptly but it took the man awhile because our car is old (1994 Toyota Camry), it was nice to know though that it's hard to break into our car. Kira and Josh thought it was kind of exciting, I was more embarassed than anything. I thought about just going home so I could get Joshy down intime for his morning nap but well Target won so we went shopping instead. My treat was lemonade (We listened to Syd Barrett on the way home from the airport, Kira noticed he was singing about lemonade on "Baby Lemonade" so she wanted lemonade... funny though all weekend when I have offered it to her she says "no..milk" I guess that's good though) and the Gilmore Girls. I saw that Season 3 of the Gilmore Girls was on sale for $18.99 so I had to buy it.
I thought as we were leaving Target.. well things are shaping up maybe this weekend won't be too bad. When we got home, I layed Joshy down for his nap (which through off his nap schedule for the day but oh well) and got me and Kira lunch. I was getting water out of the fridge and I somehow hit our big plastic bottle of salsa, it fell the bottom broke out and spilled all over. Man, could this day get any worse. I spent nearly 45 minutes cleaning up that mess. We finally had lunch, Kira went down for a nap and I had time to myself. The kids went down great that night for bed which was great since I was going out with the bookclub girls for dinner. The dinner was a lot of fun, we went to California Pizza Factory to celebrate Robin's birthday. It was so nice to do something with the girls two nights in a row. (bookclub was on Thursday)
Today has been pretty relaxed, Kira loved the snow and kept on calling it "ho ho ho" that's her word for Christmas. Oh, yesterday I gave Joshy his first haircut. He looks really cute and more like a little boy instead of a baby boy.
I just can't wait for Lou to get home, I guess until then I'll keep on enjoying my nights of Gilmore Girls and Lost.
ps The picture of the salsa doesn't do the frustration of cleaning it up justice and I realized that Joshy's hair isn't quite even. Oh well, he was moving a lot.

Jeremy just left me alone with our two for the first time. It's kind of scary, isn't it? With the few mishaps (which could have happened with or without your husband at home!) it sounds like you're handling things very well. I hope the rest of the weekend has gone smoothly!
I am glad Lou was able to go be with Gary before his wedding. Your anniversary is just a couple of weeks away. Glad he didn't go then.
I didn't know the salsa mess was partially in the fridge- that makes it much worse! It seems the worst days for me are the ones where Linc is in class until 9 so I don't have that break to look forward to at 6. How does Mya know that??? Hang in there :)
I hate it when things spill like that, it's a huge mess, a waste of the product, and just an added annoyance to the day. So sorry about that.
Also, what a pain that you locked your keys in the car at Target, but kind of funny too. The Gilmore Girls is a good treat for when Lou's gone or anytime really.
