Oh, I love this Girl!

There have been plenty of moments since the kids have been born that I've thought to myself, wow, now why did I want to be a mom? There has also been plenty of moments when I've realized oh, yeah this is why I want to be a mom. Yesterday when Kira woke up from her nap, I had one of the latter moments. Kira and Josh start their afternoon naps (Kira's only nap for the day) at about the same time, sometimes Kira gets up earlier than Josh, sometimes Josh earlier than Kira and often they wake up at the same time. Yesterday, Kira woke up before Josh. I absolutely loved every minute with Kira for the hour that we had all be ourselves. It was one of those times where you think, umm... am I secretly being recorded for a Church video? It was just a perfect mother daughter moment.

When I got Kira out of her crib, I asked her what book would she like to take downstairs? (I was reading before she woke up and wanted to conintue reading, thus asking her to grab a book) she looked at her bookshelf, debated a few and finally decided on The Book of Mormon. Kira loves looking at her copy of The Book of Mormon, she loves the pictures in the front of Jesus, and she loves that it's a grown up book like Mom and Dad. Kira sat down on the couch next to me and just looked at her book for about 20 minutes, pretending to read to me, pointing at the pictures, and what I liked most, cuddling up to me (pretty rare for Kira). She then stood by the couch for awhile and quitely looked at the book, then decided I needed a book with Jesus too, so she grabbed this month's Ensign out of the sidetable drawer and gave it to me to read and then pointed at all the pictures of Jesus, mountains, babies, babas (older people) and her favorite, bikes. Kira and I did this until Joshy woke up about an hour later.
It was such a lovely hour with my little girl, it made be feel so lucky and blessed to me her mom.

I had a dream last night about Kira and woke up wishing I could see her. (: She is such a sweetie and such a good little girl. I am grateful you have such great kids, too. Can't wait till I can see them or watch them for you two.

That's a sweet story. I'm impressed that she could stay interested for so long. That's very cute and that picture will be nice to have as an example/reminder for when she's older, very cute.

She is too cute. I love when Mya will just sit next to me and read for a little while- I can't wait until she is older and can actually read and be engaged for longer.
