A Fabulous Weekend

This had to be one of the greatest weekends. Friday the 29th was our 5 year Anniversary. It's hard to believe that we've been married for over 5 years now, it's gone by fast yet it's hard to remember when we weren't married. Jessie and Timm watched the kids for us so that we could go out. We went to the mall to get my new watch sized. Louis bought me a beautiful watch for our anniversary. We then had dinner at Good Wood Barbecue. The food was so good, we both had steaks. After dinner we took a drive up Provo Canyon to Squaw Peak, to look over the valley. It was such a romantic time. I loved listening to music (David Gimore "On an Island) and talking to Louis. It was nice to talk about what has happened in the past five years and imagine what will happen in the next 5 years. I love being married to Louis, I couldn't imagine a better husband for me.

As I said Lou got me a watch, I got Lou 5 smaller gifts. I chose 5 things to represent the things that he loves the most. His first love would be his family to represent that I made him a photobook at shutterfly.com It turned out even better than I could have imagined. His second love would be music in particular Pink Floyd I got him the guitar Tableture to Dark Side of the Moon and a book about Pink Floyd (he got a bonus present) his third love would be the outdoors, since he has so much hunting eqiupment and climbing equiptment I got him a quickdraw to represent his love of the outdoors. (I figured you can never have too many quickdraws) his 4th love would be Star Wars. I bought him a new Star Wars book and his 5th love would be food/cooking. I wanted to get him an apron but I couldn't find one manly enough so I ended up buying him Reeses Peanutbutter Cups. (I know that's pretty lame, that's why he got the extra Pink Floyd book) I think Louis loved all of his gifts. It was such a special night, I am glad we got to celebrate together.
The rest of the weekend was just as nice. Conference was good, Joshy pretty much napped during all the sessions and Kira napped during both of the afternoon sessions so we were able to enjoy it. My good friend Mona moved this weekend. It was really hard to say goodbye, but I am excited for her family too. Kailee (Mona's little girl) was baptized on Saturday. I was able to play the piano for it, including accompanying Mona when she sang "I Feel My Savior's Love". The baptism was so lovely. I enjoy baptism services, the spirit is always so strong. While I was playing the prelude music I thought back to my mission, and all the people I was able to see baptized. I also thought of my own baptism and my mom's baptism where I too played the piano and my sister, Sharon and my Dad played the violins.

This weekend really motivated me to work on things that I struggle with. I love the inspritation I can receive from the leaders of the Church and the feeling I felt at Kailee's baptism.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend also.

First- I love the picture of Lou with his fingers all bandaged holding up the book- so funny! Hope things are getting better in that area for him...

So glad you guys had a nice anniversary. I didn't realize you have been married that long- congrats on the big 5! I thought the book you made him was great and such a personal thing, so glad you had time to get it all together.

It seems that everyone had a great Conference Weekend and you are no exception! I really can't wait to read it and get my fill, too!

Congratulations of your five years of marriage! You two sound like such a great couple--so happy. I loved your gift idea. It's so creative. Do you mind of I steal it?

Sounds like you had a great anniversary. I love the 5 gift idea.

I can't believe your kids slept through conference. Do you even realize how lucky you are???

I'm sad for Mona to be moving, especially so close to her baby being born.

Glad you had such a great anniversary. Hope Lou's finger is better, too. That is so great that you can play piano to accompany people...music brings the spirit so strongly. Glad your gifts went well and excited to see the watch Lou gave you. Also, you look great in your pictures!!
