Poor little Josh has both ears infected. For anyone keeping track yep that's two infections in 2 weeks time. I took Josh to the doctor this morning because the last couple of days he got his fever back, had been a little fussy and just been tugging at his little ears. Sure enough another ear infection, today they gave Josh a shot instead of making us give him antibiotics since well he finished the antibiotics last Thursday from his previous ear infection, yes not even a week ago. I cannot wait until October 27th to see the specialist, I hope the tubes work. While I was at he doctors waiting to be seen, I saw a flyer about flu shots, I noticed that "high risk kids" could get their shots weeks before other kids. I asked how do you know if your kid is "high risk" the receptionist told me that Joshy was because he is under 2 and if I had other kids they can get their shot at the same time so that we don't have to come in twice. Well another lady waiting for medical records or something chimed right in saying how stupid that was that she has a "high risk kid" but because he's over 2 he can't get a shot until later and a lot of years they run out. She said it isn't fair that "this lady" (pointing to me ) gets first options when my kids really aren't "high risk". The receptionist didn't really know how to respond. I wanted to respond but I didn't because I thought what's the point. Josh is high risk not just because he's under 2 but because he has asthma, if he gets a cold it sticks with him forever in his poor little lungs causing him trouble breathing, he also is susceptible to ear infections (which everyone knows) which can come because of nasal drip down the throat. So that's what I wanted to tell that lady. Geez where do people get off acting like they know me and my kids. Kira obviously is not high risk, she is rarely sick but isn't it better to do it on one visit, plus if she picks up something in nursery, she make not react to it but Josh definitely will.
Tonight is Lost. I'm very excited. I'm excited that Jessie and Timm are coming over every Wednesday to watch with us. It makes it that much more fun and exciting to watch Lost.
Tomorrow is book club, I'm only about 60 pages into the book. I totally forgot about it, I guess this month has been kind of crazy. It's a quick read but I'm having a hard time believing that the story is true.. It's called "Glass Castle".

I sewed a ton yesterday I am almost done with Kira's witch dress. I at first was having trouble with the sleeves, I put it away for a day, yesterday it just came to me what I had to do to make them work. I was pretty proud of myself for figuring it out and not giving up. I can't wait to post pictures on Halloween of the kids. Don't let the title of the pattern fool you this witch costume is probably the hardest thing I've made to date. Josh will be the skeleton, I only have his cut out.

I'm so sorry Josh is suffering again. I'm glad you've got an appointment to see a specialist because it sounds like he definitely needs tubes.
That lady at the doctor's office sounds very rude, but good for you for not letting her egg you into a bad conversation.
That pattern looks darling, I'm sure Kira will be the cutest witch around. I'm impressed that you're sewing it yourself. I'm heading to JoAnn's tomorrow to look at their costumes and see if I can get something for Whitney (she got invited to a Halloween Party for next Tuesday!).
Wow! Once again, the amazing Diana is making a Halloween costume. After the Piglet costume how could anything be hard for my little sister? The kids are going to be darling! Mckenna got a sewing machine for her birthday, I guess it is time for me to join the bandwagon and learn how to sew. Mckenna and I will learn together that will be a fun mommy/daughter time after the Music Man is over.
I am so sorry that Josh has had so many ear infections. Devin when he was little got a lot of ear infections. I was told that he would need tubes, but they (FHP,) backed out of the procedure and he continued to suffer, but after a few other ear infections he finally outgrew them. I hope that the doctors do tube him and that they work, because then the poor little guy will be some much happier after that.
I love you Diana-

What a jerk lady! I hate it when people are so mean and judgmental like that--good grief can't people just be decent every once in a while?
I've never encountered such rudeness, and am always shocked that people would behave so badly! It's good that you didn't say anything. Your attitude is just right--what's the point?
You are so ambitious to make your kids Halloween costumes. It's something I wish I could do, but don't know if I actually would.
I cannot even believe that lady saying that! Thinking it, maybe, but saying that right to your face? Yikes. I'd have a hard time shrugging that off.
I haven't sewed a Halloween costume for about 4 years, it always stresses me out. You are so ambitious! I just bought Eva a witch costume at Target.
I hope Josh gets tubes soon. It made a world of difference with Lucas.
