Last night we met at Mimi's Cafe for Hannah's birthday dinner. I at first wasn't in the mood to go out, we kind of had a busy day (for us) I either wanted to stay home and sew or go to the gym. I thought wow I'm being silly, I love my friends, I never go out so just go. I did and I am so glad that I did. I just love all of my bookclub friends and enjoy their company. We all compliment each other so well. We did miss Rachelle (she wasn't feeling to well) but overall it was a great evening. We got on the topic of the book Language of Love. I haven't read it and had never heard of it before last night. The girls that had read it or had heard of it were telling us what language they were and what their spouse was. It got me curious and excited to read the book. Just from what they told me I'm pretty confident that Louis is task oriented love and well I really don't know what I am. Lou is so full of service, he is always willing to do whatever the kids or myself need or what we want. My mom is the same way she is definetly service oriented with her love.
So, I caved... I hardly listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving but this year we started this week. I talked to my Dad on Saturday for his birthday, he asked me if we were listening to Kosy. I told him not yet thinking they don't start their Christmas music till after Thanksgiving. My Dad who lives in Florida, told me that Kosy was already playing Christmas music.. ah the power of the internet. Kira has really enjoyed listening to it the last couple of days as have I. Kira loves to pick out the words she knows from her Christmas book. Kira has a book full of Christmas words, so during the songs, if she hears reindeer, Santa, star, angel, Jesus etc... really any word in her book, she'll get really excited and repeat the word and say in my book! We dropped Louis off at work yesterday, on the way "Sleigh Bells" was on by I think Andy Williams. Joshua just started to giggle and giggle, he laughed thoughtout the entire song. Now, I was pretty sure that Josh was laughing at the song but you never can be too sure with a one year old. I had it confirmed for me though, on our way to pick Louis up from work some 8 hours later, Kosy was playing the same song, low and behold Joshua started to laugh and laugh again. So I have no idea what it is but Josh thinks Sleigh Bells is a very funny song.
I love that my kids can be influenced for good. I am a very clean person, I love to clean my house and to always have things orderly and clean. Kira is becoming very much the same way. Now her favorite word is mess and wash. If she spills while she is eating she'll so "oh Mommy mess, wash it." she'll even do it while she and Josh are playing and she thinks there are too many toys or papers on the floor. OH can I just say I hope this sticks and she is always a clean girl.

Last night was awesome for sure. I hope you do read Love Languages- I want to read it again I enjoyed it so much.
I sing Christmas songs with Mya all year round so it isn't weird if you ask me :) I didn't know that about Kosy playing them early though- I will have to start listening. Very cute about Josh and the giggle fits too.
Maybe Mya should hang out with Kira as I am so not that way and she feels more in her element when toys are scattered about. How funny.

So fun, that Josh gets a kick out of a great song!
Thanks for talking about the Christmas Music, I have tried to listen to Kosy, since I heard that they started playing Christmas music on Halloween, but we don't get a strong enough signal. I guess I will have to tie up the phone lines and listen to it off the internet. Call me on my cell I guess if you need me!
I have heard my friends talk about Love Languages and I am now even more curious to read it. I guess that is going to be my next read now that I have more time on my hands!
Hope to talk to you soon,
Sandi
I love talking about Love Languages and am so fascinated by them. I'm definitely Gifts and Acts of Service. I still can't figure out what Randy is and that makes me crazy. He's probably Words of Affirmation and that's the hardest one for me to do.
I've had nights that I've wanted to stay home rather than go to book club or something, but then I always realize I'm just being crazy and end up going. It's always a good time.
It is very obvious that Josh comes from a very happy home filled with love. He is a such a beautiful, happy baby. And we see so much of your Grandpa White and Uncle Bob in him.
Love from your Mom and Aunt Mary
xxxooo.
Although I always have to shake my head when I see stores putting up Christmas decorations that day after Halloween, I have to admit that I am realy to start Christmas this year! I want to put up my tree this week! There's something about experienceing it with Children that makes Christmas so much more magical than it already is. Thanks for the reminder that I can listen to Christmas musis on the radio. Next time we're in the car I'm turning it on!
That's too cute about Josh laughing during Sleigh Bells. I'm putting up my tree this weekend, I always do it the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Sometimes I have to talk myself into leaving the house, too, although I'm always glad when I do. When will I learn?
