Remember about 2 months ago we thought we said goodbye to ear infections for the last time? Well apparently we should have said see-you-later instead of goodbye because Joshy has an ear infection! Our ear specialist told us that we would know for sure if he had an infection because he would have drainage out of his ear, that happened about a month ago, it was nothing too bad but this time there was no drainage. Josh has had a fever the last couple of days and a bad cough just acting sick. I've seen him tugging at his ear but I think I was in denial, today though we finally took him to the doctor and had our fears confirmed. I am hoping that this is a rare occurence. Dr. Barlow said the tubes are where they are suppose to be so we don't really know why he has an infection. Everyone hope with us that we don't have to deal with infections all winter.
I know I'm behind on posting it's been hard to get back into the blogging world after taking a break for so long. I will post about my vacation, I had a wonderful time, there's nothing like being with your family. Sharon's baby Samuel is so adorable . Everyone should check out her and Rich's blogs for the birth story and cute pictures. Samuel is named after our Grandpa who died way before Sharon and I were born. Samuel's middle name is Berkman which was our Dad's last name until he was a few years old when his father changed their last name to avoid persecution. Samuel even outed the number of boy vs girl grandchildren on the Field side of the family. Now there are 4 boys and 4 girls. It was so great being in Florida in December, I could really get use to living there. The weather was beautiful and everywhere you drive it is just so beautiful, even a drive to the local target is a scenic trip. I spent the first days with my parents, my Dad picked me up from the airport he wore his BYU shirt and BYU baseball cap to makeme feel welcome. Dad and I enjoyed a nice walk on the beach the first day, I couldn't believe I was in a tee-shirt and capri's 2 weeks before Christmas. I had fun with my Dad we played basketball and tennis and did a lot of walking. I shopped a lot with my mom and aunt, it was fun to go out and not worry about getting home in time for naps or taking diapers and a stroller with you. ONe of the funnest things I did was go to Disney World. Since Sharon just had the baby, her family didn't come up. Orlando is about a 2 hour drive from my parent's. So it was just me, Dad, MOm and Aunt Mary. We were lucky, it was an overcast day so it was hardly crowded, we got on so many rides. It was a great surprise when they paid for me, I was planning on paying. Disney World is a blast even when you are there with jsut adults, although I kept on thinking how much fun Kira would be having, I think Josh is still too little to enjoy it. In a few years it will be fun to take the kids.

The Sunday after I got there so after about 4 days with my parents we drove down to Miami to Sharon's house. I had a great time staying by Sharon, it was fun to play with her girls , Kiara and Indigo. It was fun to watch Sharon adjust to having a baby in the house again, changing diapers, feeding him, etc. I have lately been the one having the babies and receiving all the help it was nice to be in the oppposite postition where I was able to give rather than receive. Of course I did receive, I always love being with Sharon and her family. I feel so comfortable with them, it 's so wonderful to have your sister be your best friend. I'm lucky to have two sisters that are my best friends. Sharon and I did some shopping and going out to eat but since Sam is still so young she didn't want to bring him out everyday. (I'm the say way, so I completely understood). I took the girls out some times that was a lot of fun. I brought them to a place called Bayside which is downtown Miami. The girls were so excited and were so much fun to be with, they told me to tell their mom to make sure they go back to Bayside because it's just like Disney World. It is a shopping center on a bay. It has fun stores, and rides for the kids.

Sharon and I did go to South Beach which is always so much fun. It's so beautiful and I was able to get some Christmas presents for Louis. The last night I was in Miami we went to Hollywood, on the boardwalk they were having a Christmas celebration. I was able to see a Steel band for the first time in my life, it was great music and the girls loved dancing. I even got hit on by a single father, ironically the guy's name was Louis. We thought that was pretty funny. I loved my vacation, I loved being with my sweet family. It's hard living so far away from them but it's always so special when we get to be together.

Well it's going to be hard this week to adapt to normal life, Lou goes back to work and then starts school on Thursday. I plan on keeping busy so that it's not a hard adjustment.
Last night we had Timm and Jessie over for games, it was so fun to be around our friends again. WE played a fun game called Imagineiff. I"m excited because we are going to start having regular game nights every week. Jessie said she had talked to Robin and Hannah about it. We are doing it our house since Jessie's house is toxic to me. I love it, I love having set plans and it will be so much fun to see my bookclub friends more than once a month. I always see Jessie but other than that the rest of the girls it's mainly at bookclub unless there are special occasions. Plus come February and we'll start having our Lost parties again. Those things will help me deal with Lou having night classes 3 nights a week this semester well those plans and knowing he graduates in April!!!
Well this post was going to be short but ending up being super long. Hopefully it wasn't too boring, I guess if it was you won't still be reading anways!

Yeah! I have been waiting for a recap post and I was pleasantly surprised. Glad to hear your trip was successful and glad you're home with your cute family. Sounds like you have tons of fun stuff planned for the coming year with friends and game nights and I am excited for you. Talk to you soon!
It sounds like you had a great trip! Visiting your family alone sounds like a little bit of heaven to me. So sorry about the ear infections -- I hope this one is the last.
Okay, I am sooo jealous. I lived in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area most of my life and boy, do I miss it. When you mentioned the Hollywood boardwalk, Bayside and South Beach, it brought back so much! Glad to hear you had a good time. I am so sorry to hear your little one has an ear infection again. I had to get tubes when I was young too, I feel for him. Get well soon!
Oh, and thank you for your nice comment. Don't worry about not wrapping it. I loved the gift. With 4 children, you knew I needed a break:) Thanks again.
Sorry, I'm way late posting! I'm glad you had such a great time in Florida. It is beautiful there--and warm. Wasn't in nice ot not have to worry about wearing a coat? I could definitely get used to it also--though Jeremy would rather cut off his right arm than mover to Florida. He served his mission there. He's definitely a mountain guy.
Your Christmas sounded wonderful as well. We've had two Christmases at home, and I think now I wouldn't have it any othr way. It's so much more relaxing and fun for the kids to be able to play with their toys, etc.
I'm glad you're home safe and sound and that life is getting back to normal--even if normal means ear infections. What's up with that?
