Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

As I sat down to the computer my new emails automatically pop up, when I see one from Borders I'm usually not so excited however today was a different story. The title said "Alert! Harry Potter Book 7 Now Ready to Reserve" I got so excited I had to call Louis right away. Harry Potter comes out on July 21. Woo-ee am I excited. I feel as if it has been a life time since I've read a new Harry Potter book. The anticipation is so strong. Book 6 came out when I was pregnant with Joshua. I remember the day it came, we were waiting for a knock on the door from the UPS guy but the knock never came. Finally around 11 am I told Louis and Mark (Lou's little brother Mark stayed with us that summer) that I would check the mail box just in case. Sure enough the key was there, I open the package box and 2 Harry Potter books are sitting there waiting for us. We had to have 2 copies one for us and one for Mark. No way would we have survived with one copy with 3 readers. That day Louis was filming "Lord of the Bling Bling 3" with some friends so I knew I had the entire afternoon to read the book. I don't think Mark and I did anything else the entire day except read and read. Kira napped a ton still back then and when she was awake well she had to play by herself. Lou and I actually had a Murder Mystery Dinner party to go to that night, which we were very excited about but also a little sad to leave Harry. Mark fed Kira dinner and put her to bed for us and then read the rest of the night. I can't really remembered how we worked it out but all 3 of us completed the book in a couple of days.
The fifth Harry Potter book was the first Harry Potter book that we had to wait for to come out. Lou and I only started reading the Harry Potter books once we saw the 1st movie, a movie which our friends totally had to convince us to watch. After watching the movie Lou and I decided we needed to know more that there were definetely detais that weren't included in the movie. So for about 5 months or so we had 4 Harry Potter books to read before The Order of the Phoenix came out. It was quite funny our friend who convinced us to watch the first movie, was very set on going to Borders that night to wait in line for the book. We went with them, it was his birthday and that's how he wanted to celebrate it. It was an eye-opening experience to see everyone dressed up as the different characters from the books and all the events the book store had to celebrate the release of the book. The line was obviously very long, Ben's (our friend) wife was very pregnant, she was getting very tired and hot, so he took her home and kidless Lou and I saved his place in line. We got home so late I want to say 2 or 3. (ah the joys before kids) went to bed, woke up by a knock at the door from the UPS guy delivering our book. We thought it was so funny that we ordered ours on line and got it the day it came out, didn't have to wait in any line (except for a friend) and got the book less than 8 hours than our friend got his book. We decided with every Harry Potter book thereafter we would always order on line. Another funny side note, our same friends were going home to Idaho the next day, Ben made Kerri drive the entire time so he could read his book. I don't think I would have been as accommodating if Lou made that request of me when I was pregnant.

off the topic. Last night Ryan, our brother-in-law came over. He was in town doing recruiting for Kohls at the BYU career fair. We divided our time watching the BYU- Utah game and the Jazz-Spur game. WE had a lot of fun with Ryan. He was so happy to see a BYU basketball game, he hadn't seen one all season since they live in Milwaukee. The network the Mountain makes it impossible for anyone outside of Utah to see games since they own the rights to all the games so ESPN can't carry any. Lucky for us both BYU and the Jazz won. Jazz won without Carlos Boozer against a great team on national TV, I don't think much could make me happier.

I too am so excited Harry Potter is coming out over the summer!!! I've been a HP fan since before they became popular. My grandma gave me the first book for my 11th birthday, saying that the lady in the bookstore recommended it and it stayed on my shelf for a couple of months, but once I picked it up I couldn't put it down! I'm definitley an avid HP reader and can read the books in a day!! This summer looks to be great! See you Wednesday for the return of LOST--all new episodes!

I have ti admit, I'm a go to the bookstore, hang out until midnight person. Last time I went to B & N, and was very impressed with their disctribution of the book. It didn't take long and I was out of the store by 12:30. Not too bad. I like to come home and begin the book while the house is silent. Jeremy always gets up with the kids so I can get us our book early. For that I let him read it first. He usually finishes them in one day. So, I stay up late, he gets up early, then he gets to lay around for the day and I get to savor the book later. It's a good system that works well for us!
