My Spa day

Yesterday I used the gift certificate that Lou gave me for Valentine's Day. I received an hour manicure followed by an hour pedicure. It was so relaxing and so much fun. The girl who gave them to me was very nice and easy to talk to, which is a good quality if you're going to spend 2 hours with a complete stranger. She was very good with the compliments. We were talking and it came up that I served a mission, she asked where I went I told her and she got so excited. Apparently her husband served in Chicago also. She asked me when Iwas there, I knew I was there probably way before her husband because she had been married for less than a year but I told her and she acted so surpised that my mission was that long ago. (returned in Nov'99) She told me that I didn't look my age and she never would have guessed how old I was. She then told me that she could tell age by hands a lot but my hands even looked really young. She asked me if I got compliments on my hands, I told her yeah sometimes and she told me that they were the prettiest hands she had ever worked on. SHe sounded really sincere not that she was just workng for a tip. Later on she told me how beautiful my skin tone was. It was fun to be pampered for two hours and receive such sweet compliments. I wish I could do it more often but alas the life of a poor student.

Today I taught in Relief Society. It was on the talk given by Elder Wirthlin "Sunday Will Come"
The talk is about the peace we can receive through the Resurrection especially after the death of a love one. I feel the lesson went well. I had Jessie share her testimony about Lola and a sister named Sister Widdle share her testimony, she is 99 and has outlived much of her family. THe spirit was really strong and I know the Lord helped me a lot as I prepared the lesson and gave it. I was really nervous when I initally read the talk since I don't have much experience with death (gratefully) but as I continued to read the talk over and over again this week I realized I could still teach well on this subject because I did have a testimony of the cruxifiction and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

WE went on a picnic with Jessie and Timm tonight for dinner. It was a lot of fun. The kids had fun playing with each other and we enjoyed spending time together like always. Bella definetely had the most energy of the kids and didn't want to sit and eat compared to Josh who stayed on the blanket the entire time just eating. (you'd never guess with how skinny this kid is how much he can eat) . Kira was somewhere inbetween. Kira loved to tell Bella to come back when she didn't want to listen to Jessie or Timm I think she felt it's her responsibility as the oldest child there. Bella and Kira did really well sharing Bella's ball and playing ring around the rosies.
It's sad to think that we won't be living close to Jessie and Timm soon, it's hard to come across such good friends like them.

I'll post pictures soon, I just haven't downloaded them yet.
