What's Been Going On

It has been quiet around the house today. Sharon and her family took off this morning back to Miami, we said goodbye yesterday. It's always so hard to say goodbye. I wish that our families could live close to each other. Kira just adores her older cousins Kiara and Indigo and loves loves loves Sharon. Anytime we played with them this past week, Kira had to hold Sharon's hand, talk to her nonstop and would stand by Sharon in protest of leaving. I have a lot to blog about with regard to her visit and Sandi's visit but I left my camera at Lou's parent's house last nigt. so I"ll blog about their visit later with pictures.

I was sorry to miss the blog party on Saturday but with Sharon leaving I felt it was more important to spend time with her. It seems like everyone had such a fun time and Jill was the most excellent host.

Last night it hit me that Sharon is going home and Jessie is really gone. We got home from Lou's parents and well it was just us. Usually on Sunday we'd play games with Timm and Jessie or watch a movie or something. So we decided to watch the Wall, not the movie but a live concert. It was really good (hence the picture of the hammers) . I probably knew 2 Pink Floyd songs before I met Louis, Money and Another Brick in the Wall (Pt2 ) but I would have called that song "We don't Need an education" Now I am such a fan, well really since I started to date Lou and we would listen to mostly Pink Floyd while driving around in his truck. I have such good memories of our dating days and early married days and listening to Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd is so amazing, we've watched a lot of documentaries on them and listening to them talk about about music, shows me why their music is so good. Roger Waters and David Gilmour are musical geniuses, they're knowledge about music is astounding . Lou was able to go to a Roger Water's concert in Boise before we met and Sharon and Rich went to one in May. I'm so jealous that they've all been and I haven't hopefully someday we'll get to go to a Roger Waters or David Gilmour concert. Last week we watched Pink Floyd live in Pompeii it took place in 1972, it was pretty amazing stuff for the kind of equipment they had back then. It was also fun to watch knowing what a big crush Sharon has on the 1970's David Gilmour. For the past year I've been trying to find Pink Floyd piano music that isn't just accompaniment to the guitar tabs. But the real stuff that Richard Wright played because so many of their songs have beautiful piano parts to them. I haven't had too much success so if anyone would know where to find it....

This last picture is of my friend Jessica Hammond with Paul Millsap. Jessica works with a lady who is best friends with Paul Millsap's mom. Jessica was able to go to a Rocky Mountain Revue game ( Jazz summer league) with the lady she works with and meet many of the young Jazz players. When she told me about this I was so excited for her but also thinking man why can't I meet anyone who has connections with the Jazz :) I did apply to be a blogger for the Jazz. I applied for the housewife position. I thought which housewife would be better than me to blog for the Jazz. I'll find out this week or next if I get called for an interview. It doesn't pay anything but you do get some free Jazz tickets and merchandise and some access to the coaches and players so that would be pay enough for me. So wish me luck!

You would be perfect for that jazz position! I will cross my fingers that you get it. HOw fun.

Glad you had a good time with your sisters...i bet it is hard to be so far away, but I bet you appreciate the time together so much more than most people.

Pink Floyd is pretty well loved in this home too. I didn't know any before we got married and now know a lot, but not all. I am not nearly as well versed as you, but I love their music. We watched the Wall the movie and it was so deep! Can't believe all they were going through as they were writing their songs. So talented though.

Love you!

I had no idea there was a housewife blog for the Jazz- is it for fans or other housewives to read or what? Even though I have no clue- I will wish you luck eh?!
