Interview

Interviews are not my strong suit. I get so nervous and I really don't know why. Maybe it's the same reason that it takes me awhile to build friendships with people. Yesterday I interviewed with the Jazz for a blogger position. It was a real honor for me to get an interview they had over 800 essays submitted for 8 positions. They chose 30 people to interview from over 800 and I was one of the 30. In preparation for the interview I got my haircut, Alyssa was very kind to watch my kids while I got my haircut. I love it it's just above my shoulders and I have swoopy side bangs. I needed to get it cut because I can never make it look as nice as I would like and I really wanted to look good for the interview. Driving up to Salt Lake I listened to only happy music and only allowed myself to think positive thoughts. The interview was at the ESA (formally the Delta Center) in the executive offices of the Jazz. Never in my life did I think I would be in the executive offices of the Jazz. I hope the interview went well they were really nice but looking back I can think of so many stories I should have shared to prove what a big Jazz fan I am. They complemented my essay 3 or 4 times in the 10 minute interview. I don't know if I'll get it but but I sure hope so. I"ll find out in the next 10 days.

Glad you made it to the interview. We'll keep our fingers crossed that you are selected. Based on chance alone, you have about a 25% chance of getting the job. When we add in your superior skill and knowledge, we could maybe boost that to 75%.

Hi Diana, I saw your comment on my blog and thought I'd pop over and say hello. Blogging for the Jazz, now that would be fun! :) I hope you get the job!

By the way, I noticed in one of your posts that you used to live in Santa Barbara. I lived there for 3 years before we moved to NY and now CT. When were you there? We probably have some mutual friends. We were in the Goleta Valley Ward, from 2001-2004.

Hello Diana! I saw on Michelle's 'Chez Moi' blog that you'd been feeling down, so I thought I'd hop-skip-jump across to you and say hello.

What suspense, now, to find out about this. I hope it all goes well for you. 800 submissions is HUGE, so you should feel very pleased with yourself to be one of the 30 creamed off the top! Good luck, and stay positive! xx

A new haircut -- and especially having my hair styled by someone who actually knows what they are doing -- always makes me feel so much better! Good luck!
