Today I interviewed for a job and was hired on the spot. That's my kind of interview!
I don't know what possessed me to even apply but it fit into our schedule and it's not demanding at all. I figure we won't include it in our budget, we'll save it all so we don't get used to the money and have to have me work. (not that I make enough to even to change our current lifestyle at all)
Okay I know you're all jealous but I am going to be a ticket taker at BYU football games. I did it 10 years ago when I was a student. When I told the lady who hired me that I had this job previously 10 years ago, it made me feel so old.
Let me tell you what's great about his job. I collect tickets (or more correctly scan them) at the beginning of the game and then I get to watch the game. (at least that's what we used to do, I hope it's the same). Ryan you know your jealous. What else is great about this job is that I work 5 days in the next 3 months. So like it said it won't be a ton of money but any extra money is good. I can do more events such as devotionals, firesides, BYU's Christmas Around the World.. But that's totally optional so if I want to and have the time I will if not oh well. The best part is that if I do all of the football games I can work the basketball games. Yipee free attendance to BYU basketball games!
Now if I don't like it I'll quit. I have a training on Wednesday, I'll find out what gate I'll work at. So if anyone goes to a BYU game make sure to go through my gate :)

I just said, 'What?' aloud when I read the first sentence.
Good for you! Maybe you'll meet some cool people. Maybe not- just promise me one thing: You will not tell ticket-holders: "WE don't say that-('PP'). We say 'double P'.")
I thought the same thing! What?!?! Sounds pretty cool- esp for the basketball thing for you. Nice to get out of the house and if you like football, even better.
sounds right up your alley! Excited for you and congrats on being hired on the spot. THat will be a lot of fun. Maybe we can go to a game if we get up there sometime. (:
We might be coming for conference and visiting friends and family, so we'll keep you posted. Love you!

OH, Diana! What WILL Matt say when he reads this entry? He will think that it is cool you get an out every so often, but seriously- WHAT WILL he say about BYU?!!!!
I don't even want to take a guess!
I say CONGRATULATIONS! Grandma would think that was the coolest thing ever!
It will be great if you get to watch, and even better if you get to work the Basketball games and watch them too!
But seriously--- BYU??!!
haha- love Sandi
Woohoo!! I'm glad you got the job!! Sheesh, I was in such a "spiritual guilt" frame of mind earlier when I talked to you, I didn't even ask how it went! And you are right - what an awesome way to be, hired on the spot ;)
Wow, what a fun job. Hooray for you, It sounds like it will be such a fun out. I agree with Sandi though on the BYU thing. But you are an alumni so there is a little room for forgiveness.
That's awesome!! I'll totally have to come and see you! 2 weeks until the Office!!!!!!
