Before I write about what changes I want to make in my life, mainly a few goals that I normally wouldn't chronicle on my blog but some reason I want to share so hopefully I'll be good about keeping them. Anyways before I write about that I want to write about Saturday. I went to a bookbinding class at Amy's house. The whole day was really delightful and it 's something that I've wanted to learn how to do for the past 5 years. I was definetely the "special" student of the 4 of us who were there meaning I needed a lot of extra help, but you know what I'm okay with that, paper crafts are not my talent but I'm learning. Anways my favorite part of the day was the very end when I ended up talking to Amy in her entry way for probably 30 or 40 minutes (I think we could've gone longer but Lou was waiting for me so he could go to his LAN party). I have read Amy's blog for nearly 2 years now but had never met her in person. I always felt a closeness when reading her blog so when we finally met on Saturday it felt like we had known each other a long time. It was so nice talking to her after everyone left it felt like I was talking to an old friend. I really hope we can see eachother soon. Both Amy and I are phone phobes so one of us will have to over come that.
So here are some changes that I want to make. In no particular order.
1. No more caffeine. I rarely drink caffeinated beverages or carbonated beverages for that matter (usually only when we go out to eat) however anytime I do I am up all night long and also I hate how it makes me feel. I had some coke today and look its 12:41 am and I'm blogging ... not a good thing.
2. No more fast food. Again it's not often but I hate how I feel after I eat it I always feel sick. Plus I always think about my heart. Both of my parents have had issues with the hearts so I feel like I'm tempting fate anytime I eat that gross greasy food.
3. Set a specific amount of time that I will be on the computer each day. I find myself wasting too much time on it. I have a lot of free time during the day and too much of that free time is spent on the computer really doing nothing of importance.
4. Communicate more with my family and friends that live far away from me on a more personal level to let them know how much I care for and love them.
5. Write in my journals every day. I used to be great at that but lately I have been slacking.
6. Really study the scriptures every day. I read but I really need to study.
7. Get out of the house every day. I tend to be a hermit too often even if it's for a 15 minute walk with the kids. I get out at night (to the gym and stuff) but during the day that's the challenge.
Those are my goals. I know most of them don't really matter to anyone but me but hopefully sharing them will keep me motivated to keep them.
PS. Sandi.. Tell Devin. I watched the Red Sox game tonight and I'm quickly becoming a fan. I thought of him and I'm excited they are going to the World Series. Go Sox!

Those are awesome goals--I too have been figuring out how to better be on track with the important things like studying the scriptures.
And oo with the Sox--I'm a Rox fan. GO ROCKIES!!
Now you just need to work on justifying your bad habits, like your time on the computer is probably spent communicating with you friends and family. ok Just kidding those are good goals. I'm a total phone-a-phobe too, I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I am right there with you on the fast food leaving-me-feeling-gross thing. When I first got back from Japan (where I ate much healthier foods) and had my first meal of a burger and fries my stomach hated me for the whole evening. I felt like throwing up. Now even though I sometimes crave the greasy stuff and my body can handle it, I still often feel I'd definitely be better off without it!

Diana-
I really liked your list of changes! I actually have thought of some of the same things, except that one of my changes I started tonight! The start of making more homemade meals. I haven't really cooked a sit down meal for 3 Weeks!! AHH!!! So, tonight we had a turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, home made pies (in small glass custard bowls; pumkin for matt and kenna, chocolate w/ graham cracker crust-really homemade with graham crackers! and me apple pie- they were very yummy!) veggies and I was going to make from scratch rolls, but I ran out of time!
Tomorrow it is pork Piccata, broccoli, rice and ? for dessert.
I really need to set aside time for studying my scriptures, but I tend to get suck to the computer and then loose my focus. Must be a family trait!?!?
Devin says thanks for the comment- he wore all his sox stuff. A blog coming your way with that one- I took pictures!
I Love You!
Diana,
I'm heading over to Oprah's website right now to check it out. I'm an Oprah fan. Why didn't I think to look there? Thanks!
Jen:)
good luck :) i have WAY too many goals to list right now. yikes.
and just what you need- another sports team to adore! (like when i acquire a new hobby :)
good luck with all your goals. I love that you wrote them down so you can go back and look at them.
I'm glad you had so much fun connecting with Amy in person. It looks like you have a great list of goals -- I have to force myself to leave the house sometimes, too, I also have hermit tendencies...
Your goals are all so great! I need to be better about writing mine down when I make them- they seem much more concrete that way. Getting out of the house everyday in the winter is so hard for me, so your goal is a good reminder for me!
great goals Diana! I just set our "for the year marriage goals" and feel so good getting them down on paper. We tend to accomplish them much more fully when we write them down.
I need to be better about a few of yours too, so it is helpful to remind me about them as well. I love getting up and getting ready pretending that I have somewhere to go, because if I have the mindset that I'm just going to stay home, I don't fix up and then I don't feel as good all day. (: Love you!

Great list of goals. It gets me thinking about all of the things that I want to do in my life--and there are plenty.
I had so much fun talking with you and getting to know you that day. I hope we can find some time to get together again soon.
