Thanksgiving

Geez I've been so absent from the blogging world. Lou came home from Florida on Sunday with a very bad cold. Lou worked from home on Monday-Wednesday and of course he had Thanksgiving and Friday off so it's easy to see that my available time on the computer was quite limiting this past week. I feel bad because I thought of so many things that I wanted to blog about last week and well now I just can't remember.
We had a great Thanksgiving. On Wednesday Kira and I went up to Nana's house to help her make pies. We had such a good time. I love having family so close for the holidays. Kira mainly played and kept us company she felt bad at the end she said I didn't really help with the pies. We convinced her that talking to us and keeping us company was a great help. Lou said he had a great time with Joshy also. So nice that we can already do mother/daughter, father/son activities.
Thursday after the kids got up we drove up to Salt Lake. We had so much fun with Lou's family. I miss my family so much and our traditions but it's nice to be with family. We had great food, great company and great fun. Mark's girlfriend Valarie came in from Boston. We met her a few years ago so it was nice to see her again. Mark and Valarie came to our place on Thanksgiving night we spent the night watching Lou and Mark play Super Mario Brother's 3 on our Wii. Valarie and I had a very good time talking while the boys played. We bought Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers 3 for a total of $10 on Wednesday night. Wednesday night we were up to past 3 in the morning and then on Thursday I went to bed at 3. Lou and Mark didn't go to bed until after 6 in the morning. Gotta love the addiction of those old favorite video games.
We went up to Temple Square on Saturday night with Lou's family. Alyssa's sister was kind enough to stay with our kids so that we didn't have to bring them. She even paid me the best compliment when we got home she said "Your house is so clean, I haven't seen a house this clean, well ever" Compliment to my house keeping skills, what a great way to get right to my heart. Temple Square was so beautiful it was such a nice way to kick off the Christmas season.
We spent 5 days in a row seeing Lou's parents. Did I mention I love having family near during the holiday season?
Kira is just as excited I am about the holiday season which in our house includes Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Jazz. Here is Kira she found the stockings in her closet and came down like this to surprise us.

Other news is Kira is just amazing at puzzles. I bought her these little Care Bear Puzzles from the $1.00 section at Target. They are tiny 50 piece puzzles. Kira finished the first one without any help in about 15 minutes and she did the same with the second one. Kira is so smart. I worry about when she gets older, I hope I can culture her intelligence.

Glad you had such a great week! It sounds like you had lots of fun with family - it's always nice to have family around. (:

That's awesome that Lou and Mark downloaded those good ol' Marios on the Wii - I know we have 3, can't remember if we downloaded Super Mario Brothers or not, haha! I can't wait to get Super Mario Galaxy ;)

And that picture of Kira with the stockings is awesome! I love that she has them on her arms AND feet.

I'm glad you had such a great holiday week. Having family close by is a wonderful thing.

Kira is a little smarty. Someday when we get our acts together she and Kaitlin can do puzzles. Kaitlin loves puzzles and we have a ton--mostly 24 piece, but still a new puzzle is a new puzzle.
