Kick off of the Christmas season, a Minty Christmas

Saturday was the perfect day to kick off the month of December or Christmas month. We woke up to a wintry wonderland. When the kids woke up we spent a long time looking out the window we even turned on the Christmas lights so we could enjoy the scene even more. We didn't play out in the snow because of Kira being sick. I had to work at Christmas Around the World for the matinée and the night show. I was an usher for the early show which means I handed out the programs and then got paid to watch the show. The music and the dancing were just wonderful. I felt a gratitude towards living in Provo, so close to BYU and all the events that we get enjoy because of BYU. When I left to go to work I found a cute bag on my doorstep. Cute Hannah left it for me. Hannah knows how much I love mint and how I had had trouble finding mint M&Ms and Hershey Mint Kisses. I had seen the mint truffle kisses in the store but I was reluctant to buy because I didn't want to be disappointed but I am so glad Hannah got them for me, I love them and well they will be a staple in our house as will the mint M&Ms during the Christmas season. All during the show I thought about my mint candy at home, it did not disappoint when I got home.
I had a great weekend the Christmas spirit was strong in our home (even with a sick kid) . Sunday night we watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. I really enjoyed snuggling with Louis on the couch listening to the inspired talks and listening to the beautiful music.
This time of year is so special there is nothing like it. It amazes me every year and I for some reason I am always surprised the different feeling in the air. I am really trying to make the most out of every day until Christmas. I'm trying to think of some simple service projects we can do with the kids (any suggestions?), I have lots of ideas to do with friends and family. I just need to plan and do so I won't regret come Dec 26th. Here are some of my ideas so I will most likely do them if my friends and family know.
1. Get a Christmas tree with Nana and Gramps
2. Go to the Forgotten Carols with Alyssa since we missed the Messiah sing a long
3. Go to the Polar Express on the Heber Creeper
4. Go to Zoo lights
5. Go to Gardner Village
6. Go to Temple Square with the kids
7. Go to Thanksgiving Point
8. Do the twelve days of Christmas for a family in our ward
9. Read a Christmas scripture every day with the kids (been good on this one so far)
10. Spend lots of time with family!
So there's my list. Mom now that you're home from Nyssa we need to get planning :)

On a completely different note my friend Mona now lives in Mapleton Utah. I found out on Friday and we spent over an hour on the phone together. What a nice early Christmas gifts. I had Lou guess and he said Sharon or Jessie which would be absolutely perfect but I thought it was funny because I said guess who moved back implying that they were already here, with his guesses I thought hmmm wouldn't Sharon or Jessie let me know ahead of time?

Sounds like you have some good plans going. I can't wait for Ike to get old enough to enjoy those kind of things. That Hannah, she sure is cool.

I can't believe Mona moved back!!! SHe emailed me and I was kinda sad b/c I wanted to see her at Christmas. Then I went to take a nap and had a nightmare about her moving back to Ut. I was crying and saying I never woud have left UTah if I knew she'd be back so soon! (Nevermind everyone else that I already left behind in Utah!). ANd yes, I would let you know FAR before I showed up back in Utah.
