The Sickness that Would Not End

Kira started acting sick on last Friday (a week ago) she started with the smallest of coughs and just a little bit of a runny nose. It was so little I took her to Rachelle's house to play with Daniel without thinking twice. While we were at Rachelle's house at one point we were sitting talking in the living room (the best part of playgroups right?) and Kira came in just kind of looked at us made a weird noise and left. Something about her didn't look quite right, she continued to play well with Daniel so I didn't really worry but as time went on she looked worse and worse. Well by the time we got home she was just feeling miserable. By dinnertime Joshy was showing signs of sickness and Saturday afternoon while I was working Dance Sport (weirdest event ever) at BYU it hit me all at once. Lou fortunately didn't really get sick until Tuesday and he's better today, back to work for the first time since last Friday (he had time off for Spring break). The kids and I still have lingering symptoms and let me tell you it's dang annoying.
Despite being sick this week in the evenings have been pretty busy. Last Friday my lovely bookclub friends took Rachelle and myself out to dinner at PF Chang's for our birthdays. The food was oh so delicious and the company was splendid. I love the girls in my bookclub it is so nice to have a close group of girlfriends that you can talk to about anything. They got me Lost season 3 DVDs for my birthday and a gift certificate to Gurus (my new favorite restaurant that Robin introduced me too) Needless to say they know me well and got me such thoughtful gifts. Afterwards all of us except Hannah went and saw The Other Boleyn Girl. It was a pretty good movie it didn't stick to the book all that well, but I still enjoyed it. Afterwards was kind of funny though, we were standing around talking kind of morbid things, Ann Boleyn getting her head chopped off and Robin was telling us about the movie Sweeny Todd where they grind up people and put them in pies when all of the sudden we heard this weird scary laughter. We thought it was maybe a bunch of teenagers goofing off but it didn't quite sound right. It was so eerie with the mall being desolate and the strange laughter we decided to walk to one car and drive to the others so we wouldn't be alone. When we got downstairs we realized that the laughter was coming from the children's riding toys. Weird huh, noise that I have never noticed in the mall during the day that was overbearing at night.
Wednesday night was blogger bookclub. It was a lot of fun. I hadn't been able to make it since November so it was so nice to see them all again. I really only talk to one of the members ever outside of bookclub but when we're together I feel really part of the group and included. Check out Robyn's blog for pictures and a nice wrap up of the evening.
Last night we had our Enrichment meeting where we had an auction and a dinner. It was pretty fun. The food was good and I always enjoy talking to people. I donated a nursing cover I made to the auction. I didn't end up with anything good because I apparently wanted the same item nearly everyone else wanted and it was the last item and I got outbid so I didn't end up with it. Oh well.

The weather is great this week. The kids were finally well enough to play today so here are some cute pictures.

Good news of the week. Lou finished our taxes and we get a really nice return. We don't need the money for anything so we'll safe it towards a down payment on a house. (hopefully someday soon)

I'm so glad that your kids are feeling better. It is sorry hard to have sick kids.
Yay for getting a great tax return!
