Yesterday Louis and I celebrated our anniversary. 7 years. In some ways it seems much longer and other ways it seems like just yesterday we were getting married. Lou and I got thin crust Target pizza, Target hot wings and ice cream, we watched Heroes and then David Gilmour live in Gdansk. It was a nice quiet evening. Our real celebration will occur this weekend when on Friday I drop the kids off at Nana's whenever I want and we don't pick them up till Saturday night. Lovely right?! We don't really know what we're going to do just being together alone will be celebratory enough. The Jazz do have a free public scrimmage on Saturday afternoon so that will probably have to be part of our anniversary celebration. I mean free Jazz "game" how can I not go.
I have loved the last 7 years. I was talking with some friends the other night and we were talking about past boyfriends and not really believing in destiny but how everything really works out how things are supposed to how it is clear that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. I commented how Lou is better than I ever could have imagined my husband when I was single. How it's so easy in life to get caught up in the here and now and forget to have an eternal perspective. I remember being single and worrying so much what my future husband would be like, what a waste of time, Lou is so amazing and I never could have conjured him up in my head.
To celebrate 7 years here are some of my 7 Best Moments with Louis.
1. The moment we met. I had just moved into a new apartment. Santa Barbara condos in Provo. I had a good feeling about the place from the moment I found out about it. I just was so happy I couldn't really put my finger on it. I had just lived with one of best friends at the time but she was leaving on a mission, we got kicked out of our apartment because the owner was selling it, my other two roommates at the time were both moving so I was a little sad to have new roommates one of my roommates said that she had a friend that was looking for a roommate. So I went and checked the place out and met my roommates friend, Lauren. I loved it I signed a contract as soon as I could. I moved in on Saturday April, 28 and met Lou Sunday April 29th. (exactly 3 years to the day before Kira was born). I went to ward prayer (which I didn't always do in previous years because I thought it was cheesy but thought what the heck it's a new ward )and well I saw Lou he was wearing a navy blue tee-shirt and cacky colored denim shorts. He looked so cute. I remember seeing him and thinking oh my goodness that boy is so perfect looking I hope he says hi to me. The next thing I knew he was introducing himself to me. Then a few minutes later he invited me to a game night that night. (later he professed to having quickly planned that game night inorder to have something to invite me to) I had so much fun, we walked over together to the house that it was at, he held my hand when we had to cross some dirt (a little longer than necessary which I loved) when we were walking home he invited me to go climbing with him and his friends the next morning and to a FHE the next night. Well we basically hung out every free minute we had after that and got married 5 months to the day after we met.
2. The idea that we really went on one date before we were engaged. We did tons of things together but we didn't really "date" We did go to Red Lobster. Lou came over I was hanging out with a friend so when he invited me to go with him that night I automatically invited my friend along also. So technically our only date was with my friend too. Lou was so nice and bought her food also.
3. Our engagement. I knew it was coming but I didn't know when. I had called Lou and said I was craving pizza so maybe we could go to the Brick Oven or order pizza. Lou loved it cause the ring came in that day and had planned on inviting me out that night anyways. so we went to Brick Oven, I remember the table where we sat, Lou was so nervous he ended up leaving our left overs on the table. He then asked if I wanted to go climbing, we used to go climbing all the time and well I didn't really want to go but Lou finally had me conviced so we went to "the kitchen" in Rock Canyon. Lou was actually taking me rapelling I didn't realize it at the time because I had never been rappelling. It was getting dark and I was scared he proposed when we were about half way down the cliff. We were on a little landing. It was quite romantic adn I really wasn't expecting it even though I knew it would be soon.
4. Our travels before we were parents. It seems like were able to take a lot of fun trips together as were singlely married (married before kids) We went to Miami when Indigo was born, we did a 50 mile hike that same summer, we went to Mexico 2 months after we were married We took many trips to Nyssa Oregon to visit Lou's best friend/cousin Zac. We went to Singapore the Christmas before Kira was born and also to Oklahoma twice Las Vegas a few times, Moab, McCall and St George. It was nice since since we have had kids the travel as died down a lot.
5. The kiss outside the temple right after we were married. I can't describe what was different about it but it was definitely different. It was our 2nd kiss as a married couple. The first one in the temple was nice this was just a magical kiss.
6. Celebrating our anniversaries. Lou is always really thoughtful. when we celebrated our 5th anniversary my Mom and aunt were in town we had just had Joshy the month before. we went to Joes Crab shack we then drove up Provo Canyon. We were listening to On an Island, it was so romantic and nice until I broke out in hives, lou at the crab and that's when we discovered I was newly allergic to shell fish. But before the hives that was one of my favoritist moments. Another memorable anniversary was our 1st we went to Vegas it was a lot of fun.
7. We went to the temple in February this year. before the temple we went to Cafe Rios. We had one of the best conversations we have ever had. Then continued that conversation in the Celestial Room. It made me confident in our future and realize how much I love Louis.
there you go some of our top memories together.
Another reason 7 is great is that is because BYU is ranked 7 in the AP poll

Yea! Happy seventh! We are glad you are married and love you both much much. Glad you had a nice night and that you get a kid-free weekend! Have fun being alone! Love you both!
Ok, crap. I wish I had remember to wish you Happy Anniversary on the actual day! *sigh* What a great post though, and great tribute to your happy marriage! I just think you and Lou are so awesome, and I'm excited that you get to spend a "kid free" weekend together! (:
Ok, I better get back to work! It may seem like a ghost writing since we were just chatting on gmail - I had to rush out to lunch quick, and just happened to read your blog while I'm here at home (:
Happy Anniversary! What a sweet tribute to your good man. I love hearing how people met their spouses--yours sounds like a magical story! I love that you had a "magical kiss" after you were married.
And I love that BYU is ranked 7th! I'm surprised I didn't know that yet--my husband is a Cougar fan to the MAX.
I love the new look of your blog! At first I wasn't sure I was in the right place!
Wow! Congratulations guys!!! What fun memories...I love hearing people's stories.
Happy Anniversary!
