Joshy got 7 stitches in his tongue tonight. I didn't even get to go to the ER with him because I had to work the BYU game and by the time we decided we had to take Joshy was right when I had to leave. Joshy used Kira's little toddler scissors and cut his tongue. He did it I heard him cry, it wasn't a terrible cry so I just asked Kira what was wrong with him, she said he had a bloody nose, that didn't seem right of why he'd be crying so I hurried to the room where they were at and saw a ton of blood on his chin. I cleaned him off, but I was so afraid to look at his tongue. He didn't cry anymore and it didn't bleed anymore so I didn't worry. When Lou got home I told him what happened he of course was brave and smart enough to look at Joshy's tongue and immediately said that Joshy needed stitches.
Lou said Joshy was so brave at the hospital and was just laughing and enjoying himself.
I feel bad how could I let Joshy do this.

Kids do things, as Joshy did - does NOT make you a bad Mom. YOU, at 3 years old, fell off your bed and injured your neck, wore a brace, moaned "I HerrrtT", - I even have a video of this event in your life - were I or your Mom "BAD"? We didn't and don't think so, Kids do silly, stupid things, and hopefully, they, and we, learn.
Your Dad
That is so SAD & hilarious! I have never heard of a child cutting their tongue with child-scissors! I didn't even know they were sharp enough to cut people parts! Apparently I was wrong! Poor Joshy and poor you that you had to work! It definitely doesn't mean you're a bad mom-Grayson's already had so many spills that I think, "What do I have to look forward to?" Possibly scissor cut tongues! (: Glad he was such a brave boy and that Lou was there to take him. He'll never remember this incident years from now, so give yourself a break-you're doing a great job! Love you!
Oh man, I am so sorry. Kids do kid things and it sucks when they warrant a trip to the doctor. I can't believe safety scissors could get through his tongue- that is crazy! And that Josh wasn't more upset about it all, I would think that would hurt!
Glad Lou could take him and get him stitched up and taken care of!
Totally not your fault Diana! Kids are kids, despite how awesome and laid back yours are pretty much all the time (: Joshy is such a trooper! And hey, isn't it great that we work in pairs in a marriage, so the other person can help with that kind of stuff?? (:
Diana-
Dad is right- you are not a bad mom!
Don't you remember the story about Kyler having to go to the dr. 2 days in row because he hurt himself (1st time by catching the top of his hand on the closing mechanism on the vacuum- it ripped the skin off so it looked like a burn,) and next day i was on the phone with the nurse telling her how his hand seemed infected and he went and fell onto the windowsill an cut open his face? They sent me out of the room when i got there because they thought I was abusing him and I was on the phone with Matt bawling(in the dr. office) because they didn't believe me and the nurse i had talked to was out to lunch?
KIDS just do things and unfortunately that is the way life is!!!
Weird that he had to have stitches since the tongue is one of the fastest healing parts of our body- it must have been really bad, but don't knock yourself around mentally seriously it just happens sometimes!
Hey- call next time you are having a bad day- i seriously could make you laugh with my stupid worries. Then yours wouldn't seem so hard to take because you would know it is just the way life is and it all comes up roses and sunshine the next day!
I love you sis!
When Sarah was a little over one year old she fell down a small flight of stairs the night I was hosting a Relief Society Christmas party. It happened right before everyone was scheduled to arrive; she cried hard at first and then calmed down, so I then focused my attention on the party at hand.
The next morning when I was getting her dressed I realized she was in a lot of pain when I raised her arms. I took her to the doctor and sure enough--her arm had a compression fracture. Boy, did I feel like a good mom that day!
I'm so sorry! Things happen and thank goodness for doctors!!!
You can't blame yourself for that! Kids do goofy things. It's just part of being a kid.
I'm glad that Joshy is okay and that getting stiches wasn't too traumatizing! Poor kid.
But seriously, don't blame yourself...they were safety scissors for crying out loud! Who knew?
Are you doing okay?
Yeah real bad mom. Kidding. How are you?
you are an awesome mom. Trent cut his hand with Jared's hunting knife and their was blood everywhere. It totally freaked me out. Jared felt pretty bad that he left it out. But, things happen so don't worry. Hey, Jared and I are going to be coming to SLC Dec 11-14 for a conference. Maybe you and I can get together for lunch.
You're not a bad mom! Little kids will do the craziest things. I am glad that Josh is going to be ok. Too bad he had to get stitches, but if I were you I might secretly be glad that I didn't have to be there for the experience!
You're not a bad mom, Diana! Kids do those kinds of things; when I was little I jumped off the bed thinking that someone would catch me and they didn't--gash on the forehead. Another time I fell backwards and gashed the back of my head on a bathtub--stitches on Thanksgiving. This will toughen Joshy up a bit--you're a great mom. :)
