Where are You Christmas?

I am trying to feel the Christmas spirit. I was more excited for Christmas before Thanksgiving than I am now. I don't know what it is.
We have up our tree and decorations, listening to Christmas music, buying Christmas gifts ( we even saved for awhile now so there is no worrying about how to pay for Christmas). We even did our now traditional going to see Santa Claus land in his helicopter at University Mall.
I bought the piano music to a Charlie Brown Christmas playing that a lot, I am now officially the ward choir pianist so I've been practicing those numbers for our Christmas program in a week.
I really really want to feel more excited. I want to so badly take advantage of this time of year. I love the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, like most people it truly is my favorite time of year. I want to do fun things every day to make the most out of the season. I also though want to make it meaningful with service and such. I want the children to be excited about the Santa side of Christmas because its such a little time that they truly believe in Santa and love him. I also though want them to remember the true meaning of Christmas. We do read books about Jesus's birth and such.
Any ideas how to make this Christmas season extra special?

My family has a wooden nativity scene with a manger that's empty. Each week we draw each other's names and do secret acts of service for that person for the week, and for each act of service we get to put a piece of straw in the manger. By Christmas Eve we want there to be enough straw in the manger for the baby Jesus. It's a neat tradition that we all look forward to!

You are doing awesome Christmas things though—I love your Christmas spirit!

That is a great idea Charlotte. I am going to start that tradition in my family!

You're doing lots of fun Christmas stuff. I'm starting to struggle this year because I miss the season change and my family and stuff. I'm not sure how Sharon did it....
