Lou's Birthday

I have a lot of pictures but we took them on Lou's phone so I don't have them on my computer yet!  On Friday was Lou's 32nd Birthday!!! This is the 11th birthday of his that we've celebrated together. Its hard to believe we've known each other for that long.

I like Friday birthdays they are almost as good as Saturday birthdays, and really nicer for me so that I could get things done when Lou was at work.  The kids were super excited about Lou's birthday they just love to have a reason to celebrate.  We decorated the house, with balloons and a Happy Birthday banner.  We went to Target didn't find what we were looking for but it is always nice to go to Target.   I love running errands with the kids they are so much fun and so good.  When Lou got home we went to Borders (the kids new favorite place) and walked around the toy store that the kids like at the Riverwoods.  We were going to let the kids play in the splash pad but there was a concert going on so it was a little too loud.  We brought the kids home and had our very first experience with a babysitter who isn't an adult friend or family.  Its our neighbor who is 12 in our ward, she is so friendly and nice.  I talked to her mom today and she said she was disappointed because the kids pretty much went to bed when she came, she said mom they paid me and all I did was watch TV, I would have done it for free!   We will definitely be using her again :)

Lou and I went to a restaurant that I had been wanting to go to, La Jolla Groves.  It was soooo good! The food was excellent, it was so pretty too (lemon trees in the restaurant) and the service was excellent. I even loved the ice water so much, I told Lou I would have paid for it if they would have asked us to do so.  I can't wait to go there again!  After dinner we walked around the Riverwoods (apparently my new favorite past time..as I did it with Bridget and Robin last Friday and then went with Bridget and our kids this past week too).  We went into a few stores including Zion's Mercantile (nothing like the old  ZCMI) which had so many lovely paintings and church memorabilia.  We were only gone about 2 hours but it was just fun getting out of the house together, enjoying each other's company.

Today church just seemed to be perfect.  I love the blessing we have to improve ourselves and change old tendencies. I love that Jesus will always be there for us.  Last night when we were reading scriptures a few verses of scriptures just hit me so hard, made me feel so strongly the love the Savior has for us 3 Nephi 22:7-10

7For a small moment have I aforsaken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee.
8In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment, but with everlasting akindness will I have bmercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
9For athis, the bwaters of Noah unto me, for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee.
10For the amountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my bkindness shall not cdepart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

I LOVE Riverwoods! It is one of my favorite places around here, especially during the holidays. We should definitely go together sometime!

Lemon trees inside?! That sounds magical! And why was the ice water so good? WOW! I think you know that place is going to be amazing when even the water impresses you.

Happy late birthday, Lou!
