California- Disneyland

Two weeks ago tomorrow we went to Disneyland. It was one of the reasons of why I was so excited to take this trip to California. I grew up going to Disneyland nearly EVERY year growing up. We were a Disney family. I LOVE Disneyland. I love how happy everyone is when you're at the park, I love that all different kinds of people. When we were in line for Star Tours, I was thinking that very thing, there was a couple next to us who had mutiple piercings all over, tattoos etc, if I saw them on the street I wouldn't associate them with Disney at all, the thing is that is what is so great about Disneyland, it brings out the happiness and the kid in all of us.

We arrived in California on Thursday, Sept 8th and waited to go to Disneyland until Tuesday September 13th. We thought we'd avoid the weekend crowds. We should have done our homework though the day before we started to look up information and found out that Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were all going to be closed the day we were going. If we would have went on the weekend the only ride that would have been closed would have been Pirates. Oh well.

It was great going on a Tuesday in September with those rides closed though because it was not crowded at all. The longest wait we had was for the Finding Nemo ride and that was just under 20 minutes. Between the lack of crowd and Fast Passes we were able to get on rides quickly, be able to walk around without feeling jammed packed and get on rides multiple times. We went on Splash Mountain, Mr Toad, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Light Year, Star Tours, Indiana Jones and Big Thunder Mountain all twice!

The kids loved all the rides. Kira especially loved Winnie the Pooh cause it was Pooh Bear and Piglet but she really LOVED Indiana Jones and Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Josh loved Big Thunder Railroad and Star Tours the most. Josh was not able to go on Indiana Jones it was the only ride that we had a problem with the kids being too short.

The park was open from 10-8 and we enjoyed every minute of it. The kids were good, they didn't argue, they didn't get hungry, and they didn't tire. I think we could have done more hours if Disneyland would have had extended hours. I told Louis we need to go to Disneyland every year, its just a great place to feel happy. Here are some of the many pictures we took at Disneyland. Next a post about our love for the beach!

Haha-- when I took a closer look at the Mr Toad's car pic I thought "Isn't that the same grey-haired lady who was behind them on splash mountain? What are the chances?" Then I remembered you were there with in-laws... would that be Nana?

Looks like fun!
