Lou and I both have to teach in Church a week from Sunday. The lesson we have to give is based on the talk by Elder Won Yong Ko "Sacrifice is a Joy and a Blessing". I have tried to read or listen to the talk daily since I found out I had to teach. I am quite nervous to teach since I haven't taught a lesson for nearly 4 years. While I have read and pondered the lesson I began to think about all the sacrifices that people have made for me in my life. I thank my parents for their many sacrifices for me while growing up. I'd like to thank them for making one of the biggest sacrifices of leaving New York while they were pregnant with me. I am so grateful that they were willing to leave a place where they loved where my Dad had a lucrative job and my Mom had all of her family to come to place without a job and house, all for the love of their children. I am grateful for my "other parents" Jeff and Leann for the many sacrifices they have made for me and Louis since we've been married. I can't even begin to name everything they've done for us, I am especially grateful for their influence in helping Louis get an education. I am most grateful for the sacrifice of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he made the greatest sacrifice of all when He atoned for our sins. I know that it is only through Him that we can have Eternal Life. I know that whatever sacrifice we do for the Lord is not really a sacrifice at all but a blessing. I hope that we can all find the joy we experience by sacrificing of our self for others and the Lord.
