A new heathly us!

Last night Louis and I watched "Supersize Me" We watched it a couple of years ago or maybe just a year ago (I think it was inbetween the short time that I had Kira and I wasn't pregnant with Josh.) Anyways, watching it again made me realize that I need to start eating healthier. We have done pretty well about eating less fast food. We hardly eat it anymore, however we really don't need to eat it at all, I never enjoy it once we buy it and I always feel sick afterwards. However I need to plan healthier meals for my family. Karli and Zac are such great examples of eating right as is Mandy, I need to some how be like them. Here is something that happened a few days ago thatis kind of funny/embarassing that shows we aren't the greatest eaters, Kira called baby carrots, fries.
I checked out mypyrmaid.com. It has excellent suggestions on how to eat right and live healthy. I started today, charting what I eat, and my activity level. I know I never eat more than my recommended daily calories but I need to eat the right kind of foods (whole grains, vegteables, fruits etc) Wish me luck to the new healthy me, and hopefully since I do the shopping and plan the meals, it will transfer into the new healthy us (me, Lou and Kira :))

SuperSize me is an eye-opener for sure. I will never forget the fries that didn't grow mold...CREEPY! I am finding that fast food, or even restaurant food doesn't agree with me, so it is easy to avoid. Now if I could only stop buying cookies, I think I would be onto something. Good luck!

Good luck- it can be hard! I have no problem with the fast food thing. I mean, I don't crave it or miss it- other high-calorie food however is hard for me to resist... good fo ryou- if I were as thin as you I don't think I would give nutrition more than a passing thought. I guess I'm shallow ;)

You can do it! It is so worth it!
I have dropped the ball on the eating healthier for the last few weeks with so much running around, but I do try to get healthy alternatives in the fast food; salads, kid size meals, etc... but to cook at home! making the healthy fun food at your leisure, is more fun than watching the kids play in the playzone at Mcdonalds getting sick off their greasy fries AND so much cheaper.

Make the healthy alternatives, take the kids to the park and for even more fun, run or swing with them- my kids don't want to go to the park in the heat- it is too hot!
GO DIANA GO! I take the challenge too! Let's have some fun with it, post some fun recipes and yummy new foods that you absolutely love! LIKE LOW FAT RASPBERRY VINGERETTE- UM YUMMY!
