Sweet Sunday

Today we got a visit from Lou's brother, Jake and his wife Mandy. It was very nice to see them. Jake and Mandy got married in December and have been living in Maryland. Jake's job transferred them to San Jose. On their treck across country they stopped in Utah to visit Mandy's family and us. I love being around family, it is very hard to have no parents or brothers and sisters close by. It took a little while for Josh and Kira to warm up to them but soon Josh was sitting on Jake's lap and then Kira was soon showing off her necklace and books and really anything she can find to Jake.Kira also asked Jake to get her a glass of milk at dinner, which is really special because that is usually reserved for mom or dad to do. Kira gave Jake a hug before going to bed, she didn't give one to Mandy, which made me feel bad but she has always warmed up to men more than women. (kind of scary for the future) Jake and Mandy's visit made me excited to think that I'll be seeing Sharon and her family in a few days and Sandi's family next week :)
I have a question for parents... How do you keep kids from copying bad behavior from other kids. Kira has recently been copying behavior I don't like from a kid in the nursery. We tell her not to do it but I don't know what else to do. Kira is the sweetest little girl and I want her to stay that way.

I think Kira really misses her great-grandparents Allen. Ever since they left on their mission she has been asking about them. Today in Sacrament meeting, a sweet 99 year old sister, Sister Widdle shared her testimony. Kira stared at her the whole time, and said baba (her word from grandma). I think Kira, Josh and I will start visting the older sisters in our ward during the week. Kira really loves them and misses grandparents being close by, plus I love being around them too
