It's been nearly a week since I've posted and I kind of don't know what to post about. Saturday I went to the Relief Society General Broadcast. I really enjoyed it. I don't know why I always forget about it, it's at the same time every year but for some reason I always forget. I went with my good friend Alyssa and we met my other good friend Jessica Hammond there. It was such a pleasant experience to listen to the broadcast sitting next to such dear friends. I loved how the RS Presidency and President Hinckley during the talks made me feel so special and loved. I have been thinking a lot lately about recognizing the Lord's love in my daily life so the talks were just perfect for me. I'm excited for them to be on the church website so I can read them and get more out of them. I think that too often I get caught up in the monotony of life and I fail to recognize the blessings that the Lord gives me every single day. I just read a talk in the October Ensign by Elder Holland he said "We must never allow our burdens to obscure our blessings. There will always be more blessings than burdens-even if some days it doesn't seem so." This thought if very comforting to me it just proves to me that I need to actively recognize the blessings that I have been given.
After the broadcast Jessica and Kenny came over for a game night. We didn't end up playing too many games but it was still such a fun time. Kenny brought his game cube over and the boys played Star Wars Legos 2. It was a fun game to watch. We ended up watching a couple of episodes of the Office (which is always a good time) and eating yummy snacks. Hanging out with Kenny and Jessica is always a blast. They are just the type of people that you can feel natural around and be yourself. They have been our friends for so long now it's hard to imagine what it will be like when one of us moves.
Today I did a lot of cleaning, the usual Monday routine plus I organized Josh's clothes (that he got from Jill). It was a pretty productive day, I love being productive on Monday, it sets a nice tone for the rest of the week. Lou went to the doctor for his gross finger, it turns out to be eczema. It is so gross, I would post a picture but I can't stand looking at it. I hope it gets better soon. I went to Joanns and bought the fabric to make the kids Halloween costume. I got there about 15 minutes before they closed, so I only had time to pick out the fabric, I didn't have time to get the notions. At least I can get started with cutting the fabric out. I then went to the gym and ran. I didn't have super numbers but I ran for a 30 minutes and only walked during my warm up and cool down, so I felt pretty good about it.
Well that's what we've been up to this last week. This week should be just as good if not better since our 5th anniversary is on Friday.

I'm one of those who forgot about the Relief Society broadcast. I hate that! Thank goodness for the Internet and subscriptions to the Ensign. There's no excuse for not getting to hear or read it at some point!
Productive Mondays? What are those? It's been so long since I've had one I've just about forgotten. I must remedy this, but I lack the desire right now.
What are your kids going to be for Halloween? How cool that you can make their costumes! Sewing is a talent I wish I had.
I still can't figure out what Mya should be for halloween- and she is no help! I had good intentions yesterday for a productive day but was hit with a migraine that would not go away. Did you end up doing the thing for Lou for your anniversary that we talked about last book club?
I am excited to make their costumes. Kira will be a witch, she decided that for herself. Josh gets to be a skeleton. It was in the same pattern has Kira's so I thought cute and well nice that i don't have to buy two patterns.
Hannah-yes I got Lou what we talked about. Thanks for the idea :)
Diana,
I too loved the broadcast. It was amazing to feel so loved. I have always thought that the leaders and the men in the church have made an effor to make women feel valued.
Way to go making the kids costumes again! You do such a great job. I still love the ones i have of Kira being Piglet. You are so talented and I would love for you to teach me how to sew sometime...(: Maybe a sewing machine will be on my wish list sometime soon.
That's awesome that you have Kenny and Jessica and so many other good friends so close. That is one thing we miss, for sure. We won't be coming for conference, but I hope sometime soon...it might be later than I think, though. We're so busy and it just doesn't slow down. At least know I desperately want to see you two and the kids. Love you!

Could you teach Mckenna to sew? She is getting a sewing machine for her birthday, (that is what she wanted last year and for christmas, so I figuared she was ready if she keeps asking,)
I love that you make the kids their costumes, I think I am going to take sewing classes after Music Man is over!!!
I love you sis,
Love, Sandi
Oh, what a great comment by Elder Holland! I love him, he's such a great speaker. I should post that quote where I can see it often.
