Staph Infection

Louis has had a gross gross finger for about 2 weeks now. Finally he went to the doctor at IHC Instacare, and they told him it was a bad case of eczema. I thought the diagnosis was wrong, because they said it wasn't infected when a two year old could tell quite clearly that it was infected. Louis was in so much pain yesterday at school he went to the Student Health Center. At first they told them that they didn't have an appoinment for a few hours, Lou declined because he had class at that time. The receptionist noticed his finger as he was walking away and quickly called him back, they let him right in the doctor didn't hesitate to tell him at all that it was a Staph infection. The doctor gave him a shot and then painted his finger with a coating to make the skin stronger. Lou had to go back this morning to get another shot. I feel so bad for Louis, he doesn't ever complain about pain but he has complained about this so I know it must really really hurt. He is on antibiotics and will get another shot on Monday. The doctor prescribed for him today some strong painkillers.
Well Lou with his staph infection and Josh with his ear infections you'd think we lived in a bactaria pool. Thank goodness Kira and I are doing well.

That is so crazy- I can't believe the instacare people didn't notice it as staph. From what I hear- it is way painful. I hope it doesn't ruin your anniversary today and that the pain for him goes away really fast!

First of all...Happy Anniversary! Hope you two are able to do something fun and romantic together. Wish I was there to take the kids overnight for you...You can always send them this way, for sure... (:

Second. Poor Louis! He sent us a lovely picture of it before the cast got put on, and I felt awful for him. I hate when the boys complain because you really know they are hurting. We are keeping him and his finger in our prayers. Love you guys and hope you have a great day!

You girls stay well, too! (:

And I hope you and Kira stay healthy! I can't believe the hopital missed that! I'm glad he went into the Health Center when an observant receptionist was working. Who knows how much longer he might have suffered in pain! Doesn't stuff like that make you so mad?!

oh, man! I wonder how he got the staph infection? No fun. Marc got a staph infection in his eye when he was a student at BYU. They misdiagnosed it at the health center and the treatment they gave him created scar tissue on his cornea, leading to a corneal transplant after his mission! Weird, huh?

Hope Lou is feeling better soon, and I hope he's right-handed so he can still do things!
