Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everybody! I have been so excited for today for a while now. Last night I got Joshy's costume done a little before 11. Josh's took just a little longer because I kept on messing up on what side of the pants the bone applique went on (you put it on before you sew the pants together) Finally Lou helped me, he has much better vision on those type of things than I have. Yea both costumes are done. Josh's is so big I am planning already on him wearing it next year. I made the size 1 so I thought it would fit him pretty well, but the pants don't even stay up. I don't want to alter so he will have to wear his pants with a saftey pin. The kids have been wearing their costumes all day, they look so cute. Tonight we are going to our ward's "Trunk or Treat" and carnival. I'm glad they are having it early enough so the kids can still go for a while and make it home to bed on time. (Joshy has had a hard time making it till is bed time of 7 since the time change he's been wanting to go to sleep at 6!) I just love holidays. I love that the holiday season is upon us. It's kind of crazy going to the stores seeing the Christmas decorations. I don't mind if the set them up in November before Thanksgiving but geez before Halloween that's kind of crazy.

I am also so excited because the NBA season starts tonight. The Jazz don't start until tomorrow but TNT is airing 2 games tonight. I plan on watching at least part of both. I love basketball. I love that today when I was on the computer Kira asked me if we could watch the Jazz. I went to the Jazz website and let her look at pictures of the Jazz players instead. According to the Jazz counter we have one day, 4 hours 12 minutes and 42 seconds until the start of the first Jazz game of the season. I can't wait. The only problem is is that Lost is on tomorrow. So I plan on watching the first hour of the game, switch over to Lost and then watch the last of the game when Lost is over. I think the Jazz will make the playoffs if everyone stays healthy. They are just getting better all the time. I believe Deron Williams is a future superstar and well the acquistion of veteran guard Derik Fisher only makes us that much stronger. Lou and I listened to a lot of the pre-season games on the computer. I would sew, Lou would do homework or play video games and we'd listen together. It was fun listening to Hot Rod, it's too bad he doesn't do the commentary on the the TV anymore, he's much more fun to listen to than most commentators. Go Jazz!!!

Oh Kira's new word today is bounce. Joshy has a cute Mickey Mouse bike and on the front Mickey Mouse goes up and down when the music is playing. Kira got really excited and said bounce bounce! I love that everyday she says a new word. She is just getting smarter all the time.

The costumes turned out so well- good job Diana!

I don't share the passion for b-ball at all and have been known to take a book when we have gone to a Jazz game. I like the sound of their shoes squeeking on the floor and that is about it. It is cute that Kira likes it though :)

Oh! When you find out about the surgery tomorrow, let me know if you need us to come and watch Kira.

I love the photo where Josh is peeking around his hood! We have a neighbor who turned their Christmas lights on yesterday. I can understand putting them up before it gets too cold, but to actually turn them on the day after Halloween is a bit early, even for me! I just know that Christmas will be here before I know it -- the holidays rush by so fast.

OK, disregard my questions in my comment to your post from Thursday. I can't believe Josh sleeps so stinkin' much!

Your kids look absolutely adorable in their costumes! I can't believe you made them. I'm totally impressed. Bone applique? Huh? Just kidding. I know what an applique is, I just couldn't put one on!

Jeremy and I had tickets offered to us for the Jazz season opener. But the game was the same night as book club so Jeremy opted not to go. I went to book club and we kept our babysitter so Jeremy could go to REI. Does that sound like complete blasphemy to you?
