Sunday Post

Sometimes I wish every day could be like Sunday. Sunday's are so nice, they're productive yet relaxing. Today was really nice since we didn't have to be to church until 12:30 and church was only 2 hours. Our bishop was called to be Branch President of the Spanish branch in our stake, so they released the entire bishopric. Sacrament flew by with 5 men bearing their testimonies and the Stake President talking. The kids seemed to be extra good. Josh just sat and drank his milk, and drew with his magnetic pencil and book. Kira just mainly sat. I love now that the kids are getting a little older and we can pay a little more attention in Sacrament. Kira is beginning to understand the Sacrament. She calls it Jesus's bread and water. We don't let her take it yet, we feel our kids should be able to understand it a little more. They don't even try to grab it they know its for when they are older. Sunday school and Relief Socity were only 20 minutes each. It's amazing how it's much easier to pay attention in a shorten meeting. I actually read the Sunday school lesson before hand so I felt well prepared. I taught in Relief Society, the lesson went really well. The spirit was strong. I feel inspired to do better. The lesson was entitled " ... to Live with Him Someday" We talked a lot about avoiding procrastination and actually doing what needs to be done. We talked about inviting the spirit into our lives to know what we need to do. It was different to teach a 15 minute lesson, but I enjoyed it. WE also talked about the importance of having an eternal perspective to help us through this life, since we had that perspective in the premortal realm, where we accepted Heavenly Father's plan. We talked of Christ and his example and atonement. We can do what we need to do to become like God in this life without the help of Jesus Christ. I was amazed at how much of the lesson we were able to cover in such a short period of time. President Kimball talked about the happiness that we will find . I love this quote The treasure house of happiness is unlocked to those who live the gospel of Jesus Christ in its purity and simplicity. … The assurance of supreme happiness, the certainty of a successful life here and of exaltation and eternal life hereafter, come to those who plan to live their lives in complete harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ—and then consistently follow the course they have set Who doesn't want to find supreme happiness and have success in life. It gives us so much to think about.
When we got home from church we all had lunch and while the kids took their naps Louis and I read the Sunday School lesson for next week. It's our goal to read it every week this year. We were able to hava a good discussion and set some goals. Hopefully we can keep it up, I know it's only the 2nd week but at least we did it.
I love this Sunday knowing that Lou doesn't have school or work tomorrow it makes it a lot more relaxed.
The picture of Kira is her ready for church and Josh is from Friday when he got up from a nap.

The pictures of your kids are so precious!

We had two hour church for a few months while they were remodeling our building. I must say it was lovely!

Your kids are so cute! I love it when they stand up in their crib!

I would love a shortened church. It seems like it would be easier to focus in SS and RS. I teach next week, I need to get my lesson prepared!

I loved that lesson. I liked that President Kimball has some really forceful stuff to say, but somehow I didn't feel guilty about my shortcomings. I only wanted to improve myself. Now, that's power!
