I don't know how many of you remember my post about me wanting to write stories. I keep Amy's comment in my email inbox to remind me all the time to remind me that it's something that I want to do, and I should just do it. Well during the holiday's I didn't really have time to think about it being busy like everyone else. Now that it's a new year and January is a long month with few things to look forward to, I thought wow we're inside a lot because of the cold weather, I have more free time on my hands, what can I do with that time. The last week or so I've been thinking I should really start my goal of writing a story or at least learn how to write a story. Today I took the first step. I've spent time writing down the kids I know well, a few of their characteristics, possible adventures they might have etc. I know brainstorming is the first step and I have a long way to go but I'm really excited about it and am happy that I've started even just a little bit.
Also thanks everyone for your ideas for Kira's sign. I'm thinking still and very excited about the ideas everyone has given me so far. I'll post a picture when I complete it or if I buy something :)

Aw, thanks! I hope you do write something. Anything! I just went through a box of my papers from school and found my creative writing assignments from college. Terrible! I understand the call to write--I feel it too. But, what I'm really wondering is , how does more time indoors equal more free time? It's killing me!
Good luck!
Congrats on taking the first step to doing some writing, that's wonderful!
You will do great! If nothing else, those stories will be cherished by your children. My grandma wrote stories for us when we were kids, and then also spoke them into a tape recorder and made cds for us. Not only do we have her wonderful stories on record, but her voice. Such a great thing to pass on. I would love to get copies of your stories for my kids, too, as my storytelling ability is null and void right now! Love you!
