Easter Weekend

I have been promising my Mom a picture of Kira and her new bed, here it finally is Mom. Kira got a new bed just over a week ago (conference weekend) and the transition has been a lot smoother than I had anticipated. Kira loves her new bed, although she has fallen out a few times she still gets excited to get into it at bed time.

This past weekend we had a very busy but fun weekend. On Saturday we went up to Lou's parents house, it's our first time seeing their new house, it is very nice and very beautiful. We had a picnic in their basement and an easter egg hunt. Kira and Nana decorated the eggs.

After our fun easter celebration we hiked Bells Canyon (in Little Cottonwood Canyon). The hike was a lot of fun, a lot longer than any of us expected. We think it was about 5 miles. Kira walked a lot but eventually was carried by Gramps in the backpack which meant Josh had to switch to the frontpack which wasn't too comfortable for Lou. I was happy that lou and his Dad were there so I didn't have to carry either child. Josh got so tired from not having either of his naps he actually fell asleep in the frontpack. We didn't know if we were going to finish the hike at the moment we decided no lets keep on going (it was more up to Lou and his dad since they had the kids) we only had about 10 minutes left to the Waterfall. The waterfall was so beautiful, I am so glad we decided to endure and finish.

Yesterday we had dinner at Lou's uncle's house. It was delicious as always. We love spending time with Dave and his family. Lou's parents were there too. I think it was the first holiday we've spent with them besides Christmas or Thanksgiving. (I'll post pictures of Easter later I haven't downloaded them yet)

OH, perfect! Sweet, that little girl need a few butterflies, bird houses and pictures to add to those walls above that darling bed, pillow and blanket. Look for them in May!!!

They have a bed rail out that you can tuck between the mattresses (or are they part dust ruffle- i can't remember,) that would help her from not falling off the bed. We had one for the kids, but I don't have it anymore, sorry. But just an idea.

I love Kira's new bed. I can't believe how grown up she looks sitting there! I will keep my eye out for cute little girly spring things. (:

Your hike sounds so fun, too. Glad you are able to do stuff with Lou's family now. That makes holidays much nicer.

Love you!

I just love Kira's cute little cheeks! Congratulations on the Big Girl Bed! I can't believe you had two cribs! Kaitlin was a little tentative of hers at first, but quickly warmed up to it. She's never looked back, and will not even consider being put in Alex's crib even to play.
