Kira has always been very interested in letters from a young age she was able to point out letters. Kira loves to read if we have nothing to do we read she is always wanting to read. We've been reading a lot more since we don't watch TV. So for her birthday I bought her a Curious George book on CD and a phonics reading set called Brand New Readers. Today is the first day I've read with her a lot from her phonics book, we read a couple of books several times in a row. I would point to the word and have her repeat it soon she would finish the sentence for me and on one page she read the entire sentence before I read it. "piggy hits the bump" I know it's more memorization than reading but it got me really excited. I think she'll be reading easy books pretty soon.

that looks like a darling program & it is so exciting to know she is starting to retain things & learning to read in her own way. That's how i did it too when I was younger & I still adore reading!
