I want to share so much but I'm not really up to it. (Don't worry nothing bad but just need to let out some feelings)
Anyways I checked this book out from the library a few weeks ago, I am a Mother, I read about 90% of it a few days before Christmas then kind of forgot about it and finally finished it this afternoon.
For all mothers this is a must read. Jane Clayson Johnson touched my heart in a way that I needed to be touched. Her words made me feel appreciated and needed as a mother.
I am a Mother
Bringing up a child or two of unpretentious birth. . . .
I'd rather tuck a little child all safe and sound in bed
Than twine a chain of diamonds about my [carefree] head.
I'd rather wash a smudgy face with round, bright, baby eyes
Than paint the pageantry of fame or walk among the wise.
--Meredith Gray, from The Beauty of Motherhood
I want to re-read this book (I need to buy it) and read it more slowly and take notes in my journal since this time around I just couldn't get enough of it.

Where did I just read an article by Jane Clayson? Was it BYU Magazine? I don't know, but I really liked what she had to say. She is an extreme example of what women "sacrifice" by staying home with their children, and infinitely qualified to expound on the blessings of staying home. I'll have to pick this one up.
Yes, there was an article recently in BYU Magazine about Jane Clayson Johnson. Isn't this book awesome? I saw her speak at a "Time Out for Women" in Indianapolis in September and she spoke on motherhood. Her words and stories really touched me! I got to meet her and have her sign my copy of the book. Definitely a must-read (and own) for every LDS mother! Diana, I lost your email address somehow...can you email me again? Thanks!
I have actually heard about this book and totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!
I've heard great things about this book--I'm glad to have a solid recommendation! And I'm loving the new look for your blog :)
