Family Connections

Since Josh could talk he has told us that his favorite song is "Silent Night". Not just his favorite Christmas song, his favorite song.
While we were driving up to Salt Lake tonight to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional with Lou's parents, Silent Night came on our playlist. Josh of course got excited and quietly sang Silent Night. It made me think of my Grandma Field. Every Christmas my Grandma Field would sing Silent Night in German to us. I loved Grandma's singing voice and to hear her sing in her native tongue was something so beautiful.
While Josh was singing Silent Night I couldn't help but picture Josh and my Grandma singing up in Heaven together before Josh came to this earth and after Grandma left it. I pictured Josh cuddling on her knee sweetly singing the song they both love.

Another family connection story. When I was growing up and still now one of my parent's favorite story to tell is when Sharon was about three years old, we were all sitting in Sacrament Meeting when in walked my brother Michael and his big group of friends. Sharon so excited to see our brother stood in the aisle saying "Here boys, here boys".
Well it seems like my little darling Kira has the same pull on boys as my sister Sharon. On Friday I volunteered for a little bit in Kira's class. For 15 minutes before class starts I watch the kids while her teacher can get things ready for the day. Well we got there and kids were playing with a bunch of Mr. Potato Heads. Kira joined them. It was so cute it was Kira, one other girl and a big group of boys. The boys would so sweetly try to get Kira's attention. anytime they did anything to change their Mr. Potato Head they would call Kira and ask her to look at it. The day before this happened Kira brought home her first love note. A cute little boy in her class drew a picture for her and wrote I love you. That little boy was one in the group of boys trying to get Kira's attention.
So I guess I feel lucky that Kira is so loved but a little nervous for her teenage years :)

that is so funny about the boys in her class! She will definitely be a little heartbreaker! Such a sweetie. And, how cute that Josh was singing that song-I love it too. Did you get to watch from the conference center? We watched at home and loved it!

Thanks, girl. Those were exactly the type of people I was talking about - they have the money and they just "buy" them a black baby. It's sad, but true. I wrote a response to that one commenter, too. Ha ha. She was UPSET. Lol.

Hey Diana, I know I have been a very bad blogger. I just can't seem to want to do it right now. One reason is #4 is on it's way, regardless of how I feel about it. I have been sick, sick, sick for 4 months. I hope you guys have a very merry Christmas.
