Testimony

There were many feelings in my heart today during Sacrament meeting that I wanted to share. Due to a large amount of visitors who felt the need to share their testimonies, I did not get the chance.

Despite the fact that life isn't always perfect, despite the fact that life almost always seems unfair. The Holy Ghost seems to testify to me that life is good. It testifies to me that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and an elder brother, Jesus Christ who is always there for me.

I have tried to make great efforts to bring the Spirit into our home. I never want to be the reason that my children cannot feel the love that God has for them. For the past month before I study the scriptures in the morning I have been singing a few hymns before I study. I use the hymn player on the Church website and its like I'm singing with a beautiful orchestra and choir.
It is amazing how that small thing has changed my days. This past week I thought if that helps me it can also help my children. Before breakfast the children and I will sing three Primary songs together. They love it, I love it, it gets us all in a happy mood to start our day.

We have been diligent about Family Home Evening. I want Kira and Josh to know that families are important. I want them to know that Lou and I are always there for them. I want them to know that if we put Jesus Christ and His gospel central in our home; we will find peace and happiness.

We have been much better about keeping the Sabbath Day holy. We have tried to do the things that make us think of Christ, prepare us spiritually and such for the week ahead of us. We're not perfect at it but we've improved. Small things on Sundays make all the difference.

Our Relief Society lesson was on Patience today. It was based on the Conference talk by Pres. Uchtdorf called Continue in Patience. The teacher spoke the words I needed to hear. She spoke of that being patient isn't sitting idly by while things happen to you. One needs to be active and show faith through trials and learning experiences. President Brigham Young would pray to have patience he would continue to pray until he knew why he was going through the experiences he went through. Wouldn't it be marvelous if we had as much faith as Brigham Young. To ask the Lord why we are experiencing something and what we can learn from it.

The gospel is important to me. I am grateful for days like today that are full of the spirit and show me God's love.

Always, always, always praying for patience. I will think of it as an active thing rather than passive from now on. Always hard for me.
