Today I spent a great deal of my day at the kids' school. Josh had his Kindergarten promotion/graduation today. They sang songs and one of the teachers read "Oh, The Places You'll Go" Josh was a little shy when they were singing. Josh is sill not quite as comfortable performing like Kira is. After the program we went back to the class room for a small reception. We watched a slide show and he kids receive their promotion certificates. We also had cookies

Josh has grown so much this year. I was very reluctant, nervous, apprehensive about putting Josh in school. Josh is the smallest and the youngest in his class. Josh turned five just a few days before school started. We then went to the back to school night at Edgemont. It took me all summer to even decide we'd go to Edgemont and not Freedom Academy (we loved Freedom). At back to school night we met Mrs. Amesse. Mrs Amesse listened to me and resolved my concerns. Once hearing that Josh would be in the full-day Kindergarten class it made the decision that much easier. Josh in the full-day class would be learning the same curriculum as the half-day kids but having double the time, that sounded perfect for Josh. Mrs. Amesse told us that they are not doing he full-day next year, she was in tears it was such a success but alas money ruins the day. We were in the perfect place at he perfect time for Josh to go and succeed in Kindergarten.
Josh had a lot of friends who were girls this year
Today was also Field Day at school. Every day is a Field Day! I volunteered. It was fun to be out in the sun helping the kids for a few hours. I helped with the bean bag toss. Kira was very excited to see me helping.
Kira and her friends
This is the last week for the kids to go to school before summer break. I am excited though I will miss having a Kindergartner and a 1st grader.
Josh and me at Field Day. Josh was my helper, his class got out early today.
In case you missed on Facebook the video I made of Joshy here it is
I love how our kids are always the shortest most petite of children in school... but as I keep reminding myself- good for Kira- little girls are cuter that way, and for the boys- they grow up as they get older and if not, you continue to tell them that "firecrackers come in small packages..." this is and was the mantra for my boys.
They are both so fun to watch. Kira's personality shines through in her photo's and Josh- well... I could just eat him up he is so dang adorable!
I love you Diana- thanks for putting up the video of Josh!
