Bodega Bay

This past weekend we took a day trip to Bodega Bay. Lou and the kids went there when I was still in Boise. Lou said, Diana we have to go, you'll love it so much that you'll want to move there. Lou was right. It's a small beach town that reminds us of Portwenn (the town on the show Doc Martin).
The drive to Bodega Bay is beautiful the whole way, driving through fields, wine country, small towns, and then the coast. All so beautiful. It was raining so everything was very green. A two hour drive out of Boise or Utah is usually dry, desert, some beauty but a lot of nothing,  it was nice to have beautiful scenery the whole drive. When we arrived in Bodega Bay we went to a small crab stand. We ordered, clam chowder, crab cakes, a crab sandwich, and a loaf of sour dough bread. Everything was delicious.
A pic of the crab stand where we had lunch.
After lunch we walked on a dock around the bay. Water always makes me happy. I told Lou while we were standing on the dock, I don't think I could be happier than at this moment.

Our Family
After walking around the bay, we went to the ocean. My heart is happy that we can drive to the ocean in just a few hours from our home. Someday hopefully, we'll be able to walk to the beach. There was no sand to walk the beach because of how big the waves were. Lou and the kids went just a few months earlier and at that time they could walk the beach. So we watched the waves from above and enjoyed hiking along a trail near the water.

We had such a beautiful day together. We are looking to make these Saturday Adventures a regular thing. There are so many places to go near us that we really need to take advantage and begin to explore this area!

That looks so awesome! Family outings like that are the best.
