I'm going to Florida

Ok, Friday we bit the bullet and bought my tickets to Florida. It is all I've been able to think about! I am so excited, I haven't seen my Dad in 2 1/2 years and the last time I saw my Mom was when Joshy was born. I can't wait. I leave on December 12th at 11 at night and fly into Tampa at 11 am. I don't mind taking the red eye I sleep really well on planes so I don't think it will be an issue. I will be at my parents until that Saturday or Sunday. My sister and her family will meet us at Disney World on Saturday, which I am also so excited about, I haven't been to Disney anything since my senior year in high school. After Disney I'll drive down to Miami with my sister and help her with her new baby. I will be in Florida for a total of 10 days. I will miss Lou and the kids but I am so excited to be around my family at Christmas time. I haven't spent Christmas with my family in 6 years. I won't be there for Christmas day but I will be there for the holiday season, I can't wait to bake cookies with my Mom and aunt Mary. I can't wait to listen to Christmas music with my Dad, watch Christmas movies as a family, and enjoy the beach and sunny weather... you know all the typical Christmas traditions.
I'm grateful that Lou is willing to take care of the kids on his own for 10 days so I can see my family. I know a lot of husbands would be panicked to take care of a 2 year old and a one year old, but not my Lou.
The picture is a view of my parents backyard. I don't know how many of you know but my parents lovely condo is right on the beach. So visiting them is always like a trip to the beach :)

What an awesome backyard!! I went to Florida for spring break last year with my best friend and we got to stay with her aunt and uncle who gave us the works! They treated us to a couple of days of an all-expense paid Disney World trip (complete with a stay in one of the resort hotels) and it was awesome! I'd never been before so this was especially exciting--I think Disney World is more fun when you're older because 1) you can really remember it and 2) if you're like me who'd never been before my senior year in high school, it was appreciated all the more and I really did feel like a kid again!! That will be a way fun trip for you!

I am so excited that this trip is finalized for you-- nothing more relaxing than being able to take a trip without worrying about the kids! And, though Lou is putting on a happy face now, ten days is a long time, so Jared and I are already planning to step in to give him a break every now and then. I told Jared (who pulled full-time Daddy duty back in April for four days) how long you are going to be gone and he just looked at me very sympathetically and said "We gotta help him".

See you on Wednesday!

I am so envious right now! Lou is a champ- 10 days is crazy for a dad! I just know you are going to have the best time and you so deserve it.

A 10-day trip without kids to see your family?? Amazing! All mothers deserve that, but not all mothers get it. Way to go Lou. I'm sure you will have the most wonderful time.

How fun for you! It's so nuce to go home without kids and husband. It's like being a kids again, and I don't care how old you are, it's always nice to go back to being a kids for a little while. Lou is a saint for taking care of the kids for 10 days all be himself. It will be quite the adventure!

Have a wonderful time! We're going to be in Orlando just before you staying at the Nickelodeon Hotel until we leave for our cruise. Last Decemeber we were in Panama City (cold!) so I can't wait to experience a little warmer Florida weather!
