Thanksgiving

Ok, so Kira just deleted my entire entry by pushing the back button on our keyboard, so I guess I'll start again. We had Thanksgiving at Lou's aunt and uncle's house. It was very nice. I love that we can have a holiday with family and yet still come home at night so the kids can sleep in their own cribs. the day started out just lovely, the kids slept until 11, it was so nice to sleep in on a holiday. Josh still took at nap at noon too! Kira and I watched the end of the parade, she was very excited to see Santa Claus. Josh woke up just in time for us to leave to make it to Salt Lake by 2:30. We love going to Dave and Laurie's, they always make us feel so welcome. Laurie did a great job on the meal, the food was absolutely delicious. After dinner, Josh took a nap, which I wasn't sure was going to happen, since he had to sleep on the floor. But he did and it made our afternoon so pleasant. Kira loved being the center of attention, since she was the only little kid there for most of the day and Josh was napping. Kira thankfully was not afraid of their little dog, Dugan. Usually she is quite terrified of him when we go to Dave's house but this time she wasn't. Josh actually chased him around, it was funny watching Josh crawl, chasing the dog, they were about the same time. (too bad I forgot my camera) We went bowling that evening. We had a great time, Lou let Kira help him, it was very cute.
WE had a lovely time. I am always a little sad that we couldn't be with either of our parents but I guess that what happens when you live thousands of miles away. My brother-in-law, Rich wrote on his blog about their experience with my parents at Thanksgiving, read it to see what a tradtional Thanksgiving is with my parents.
I love that it is officially the Christmas season. Kira and I acually went to Target on Friday, it wasn't too bad. We ventured Walmart on Saturday, it was less crowded than target was, I think because the BYU game was starting in a half hour. Speaking of which, way to go Cougars! I bounced up and down for about 5 minutes straight when John Beck threw the game winning touchdown. Kira and Josh bounced with me, it was a lot of fun.
Well it's weird to think in a 15 days I leave for Florida, I have so much to get done before I leave. I love being busy!!!
Since I forgot to take my camera, I thought that I'd post of picture of Lou's uncle DAve. This picture is of him, Lou's Grandma, and Dave's daughter, Katie on the day of Lou's Grandparent's farewell. The other picture is a picture of last Thanksgiving of Kira and Lou's grandpa.

Diana,
So glad you were able to spend Thanksgiving with family. It sounds like a fun and successful day. Kira has grown and changed so much since last year, hasn't she? I'm excited that you get to go see your parents in just a couple weeks. It's too bad Louis and the kids can't go with you! They will miss you much. You are going to have so much fun! Glad you had a good holiday!
