Monsters

Kira cracks me up every single day. Today she told me about monsters, you know the scary things that go grrrr. They sound like pirates but aren't pirates. I don't know where she comes up with his stuff, I don't remember talking about monsters with her.
Lately Kira doesn't want to wake us up in the morning. Kira woke up around 9 today (I heard her upstairs) she just turns on the TV and watches Dora. I went upstairs about 9:30 and asked her why she didn't call for Mommy and she said well Mommy was sick (I did cough a little bit this morning but I'm not sick) so Mommy needs to sleep. Isn't that so funny? It's kind of weird this past week having her get up and fend for herself. I didn't really know when to expect this to happen but I admit it's kind of nice. Yesterday I slept in till 11 without realizing it. (Josh has been on a sleeping streak lately not waking up until nearly 11 every day sometime 11:30 and he is going to bed at 7 at night like always, it must be a growth spurt) . Now we need to get Kira a bed that she is so good at getting out of her crib. Ah my little girl is growing up.
Yesterday I felt my kids are really growing up, I took them to the store (the red store as Kira would call it others might call it Target) we bought their Easter outfits and some other stuff. Well we picked up lunch on the way home so my hands were pretty full between the bags of stuff and the bags of food. So I had Joshy walk from the car to the door. It's one of the first times I've let him do it I usually carry him (it's faster) but he did so well he just followed Kira and was so happy. Man I feel old my kids can walk themselves, get up in the morning themselves (well of course not Josh) and something tells me this independent thing is just starting...

The monster thing is really cute. I hate when they figure it all out and say the right words. It is always so cute.

Oh the independent stage! I'm not so sure it ever goes away. I'm still in the learning phase too.

Sounds like a fun stage...I think it will go by quickly and soon they'll be doing their own thing all the time and you'll be wanting to do things for them! (:

My body won't let me sleep in past 7:00 or so, so I'm jealous! I usually take a 20 minute nap in the day to get some power energy. I used to enjoy long naps, but they make me feel sick, so today I took a 25 minute power nap and I felt great! love that.

Glad things are going good for you and that you are indeed not really sick. (:

Love, Karli

The sleep thing just kills me every time- 11:30!?!?! What time do you go to bed? I don't think my body would let me sleep that long- it is so used to getting up by 7:30.

Mya is totally doing more for herself now so I am happy with the timing of this baby. Also happy that this will be the last go around with the needy stage. One advantage of having close kids- you get through all the needy stuff sooner :)
